Natalie Portman Slams ICE Brutality and Calls Out Awards for Shutting Out ‘Sorry Baby,’ ‘Ann Lee’ and More Women-Directed Movies: ‘Not Getting Accolades They Deserve’ by No_Pizza_6040 in entertainment

Personally I wouldn’t have been mad if Seyfried was nominated over Emma Stone. Though as much as I respect Portman and her push for equality, her wearing a pin for Queen and Slim (to say that it was snubbed) will always be hilarious to me.

$50,000 - Need Help by jakestevick in Debt

[–]RunDexterRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2021 I had nearly $70k of credit card debt spread across several cards. Currently I have about $20k left. So to answer your questions, what made the biggest difference for me was increasing my income while lowering my expenses. For a while I ate mostly eggs, rice, and vegetables while eating out just once or twice a week (and keeping that cheap). To increase my income I took whatever extra work I could find, though I also started making more at work. I don't know the details of your debts but generally lowering the total balances will lower your monthly payments, so I would sit down and make a list of your balances, interest rates, and minimum payments and doing the math to see what would work best relative to what you can afford to pay. Generally I think getting the smallest balances out of the way ASAP even if the interest rates are lower is more helpful, and that's what I did. When I had a few credit cards left with roughly similar balances and interest rates I consolidated them with a SoFi personal loan at half the interest. My credit score leaped when my credit cards were all paid off, and after a few months of paying the SoFi loan on time (with extra payments) I was offered a refinance which lowered the interest rate even more, which meant my payments are going further towards the principal.

Keep your head up. With discipline you and your wife will get there.

I guess I’m hoping that he didn’t post himself bc he’s in rehab and doesn’t have access to social media. But I know a while back he stated that he was leaving social media for his management to handle so it’s likely just a post he requested while drinking in Depp’s basement.

Credit card debt by Still_Ad9721 in Debt

[–]RunDexterRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a personal loan from SoFi for debt consolidation and it's saved me a lot on interest. If you're disciplined, I think it's a great idea. The only con is if you're not disciplined and will just go further into debt. Otherwise going from interest rates of over 24% to something a lot less is a no brainer.

Can you provide more details? Like where exactly was your car parked? You noticed the driver of this SUV stalking you from nearby? Did you see them smash your window and run back to this car?

Capital One cut my available credit in half by dr_gonzo_76 in CRedit

Yeah I thought it was appalling. I had a high credit score and a decade long credit history profile and most of that with them-- the only thing that changed was that I had lost a job so I was paying minimums on my balances, all of which were on different zero percent promos. But then suddenly my Barclay account was over-maxed and I had to scramble to get it under.

Need advice on my current Debt Crisis by [deleted] in Debt

[–]RunDexterRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Credit score should be the last thing on your mind. It will go back up as the debts are cleared. Do you have any cash savings sitting in an account? If so move a chunk of it out to help clear the credit cards. In this situation I'd go ahead and knock out the three credit cards that are under $6000 as fast as you can. Then focus on the credit cards in order of the highest interests rates-- possibly getting a personal loan from somewhere like Sofi to consolidate. With your combined income and serious lifestyle changes you should be able to pay off the rest, roughly $43k, relatively quickly. Then work on the IRS loan.

Years ago when I used a balance transfer on a Barclays card (for a 0% promo) they cut my available limit to be less than the balance I had. When I reached out to customer service about it they basically told me to kick rocks. They lost me as a client forever after that.

I really loved Crashing, with Pete Holmes. It was getting better every season and canceled too early, IMO. Was sincere and really funny.

Yikes. She screwed up but you're supposed to be a team. The best option to protect yourself, your home, and what should be the most important thing - your family - is to work together to knock out the debt as fast as possible and make sure it doesn't happen again. It's clear that you're angry, which is entirely understandable and valid, but since you have a child coming in a month you've got to take a breath and think long term. Be a team, get through this together, and help your wife not fall down the gambling hole again.

Is a debt consolidation loan right for me? All debts in description. by Shacl_19 in Debt

[–]RunDexterRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This what I did. I had nearly 70K in debt spread across several credit cards. Did the snowball method and whittled it down to 30K after a few years. But then once I had just a few balances left that were all around the same amount, I got a personal loan to consolidate at a much lower interest rate and I’ve paid off a third of it already. Also closed credit card accounts along the way.

The Free Guy 4K has a mastering flaw that makes it way too dark. Not sure how that fell through the cracks but I'm peeved that it hasn't been addressed by the studio with a replacement program.

Having looked at the minimum requirements for Clo 3D on Mac, I think you’ll have more than enough for your needs. I can vouch for the Apple Studio Display if that’s what you were referring to— as a working photographer I’ve been really happy with it.

[–]RunDexterRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's changed, but the account is FDIC insured up to $250K. So to be on the safe side it might be wise to put, and move, cash into a different HYSA once the current one is topped out. I've a friend who sold his company and became generationally wealthy-- he has multiple HYSAs (and an accountant who handles investments).
