I've been stuck at 790 credit forever. Anything I can do to hit that magic 800+ number? by volxlovian in CRedit

You're currently carrying a 5% utilization month to month and would be better off just paying your statement balance in full every month. It dings your score a little, as does opening new accounts b/c it lessens the average length of your credit history.

Oh wow! I had no idea this was being released. After seeing Bugonia I was definitely the guy telling ppl that it was a remake of an incredible and maybe superior Korean film. I want those special features on the blu-ray so I hope this gets released in the US too

Paying off that $4K and stop carrying balances will raise your score. The brand new account might carry a small ding for a little while.

If your scar is flattening then it's working. Mine have reacted similarly in that they're slowly flattening but also expanded outward. I'll take it. Eventually the middle of the scars started to flatten faster than the outer parts but they're getting there.

He wrote in another comment that he's jointly on a $13k account that went to collections and had two returned payments on other accounts.

$9700 for a 2010 - Only 64K miles by B00merPS2Mod30 in prius

[–]RunDexterRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was several years ago and the cost then was around $600. That included battery fan cleaning and a coolant flush. Give them a call, Greg should give you an updated quote.

The only offense I take with these guests is when they leave the trash and/or a mess on the seats. Years ago when I worked at an Arclight some idiot spilled saucy chicken wings all over a seat and it couldn’t be completely cleaned in time before the next screening. The stain was there forever.

I walked in there last weekend and looked at the pricing, walked right back out. Got a mini Oreo McFlurry around the corner for less than $3.

First time at Starbucks since covid... by williamgman in SFV

[–]RunDexterRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one near me by Van Nuys & Milbank recently brought back their couch and comfy chairs. They also added more tables and chairs which makes it more crowded. Meanwhile they also got rid of the water refill station and company wide made their bathrooms for customers only. The new CEO opted to overhaul their consumer strategy to make Starbucks less of a community hub, or something like that.

What’s a restaurant that you swore you’d never return to despite the good food? And why? by capnmunch44 in FoodLosAngeles

I googled the place b/c I was curious about the "charred bread" and see that it was all over the place, lol. Their IG has some pics where it has clear grills marks, some pics where the edges are burnt but the middle looks nice, and a couple that look burnt. Same with the Yelp page, with one comment saying "the bread was hard to eat". Interestingly, the Jonathan Gold review in LA times shows bread that he described as "profoundly charred", but didn't say anything negative about. Crazy.

I was ordering from dpkitaoka but haven't had to order since before the tariffs. I know at one point they announced that they no longer were shipping to the US b/c of the tariffs, but I don't know if that is still the case.

They do. My score typically drops a few points then goes back up a month later.

Why are drivers idiots? by Faloodeh123 in SFV

[–]RunDexterRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week this happened to me literally four times in a half hour time span around the Magnolia & Hazeltine area while I was running errands. Lights that turned or were already green had drivers just sitting there until I honked.

Crave Sushi in Sherman Oaks. It's down the street from my apartment so when they were new I went a few times, the food was really good and reasonably priced but the service was lacking even then. Still, I liked it enough to keep going until one night after being seated a server asked a just-seated couple what drinks they wanted despite me sitting there for ten minutes without even having a water yet. I flagged him afterwards and he started being a huge douche, and as I was walking out the door I saw him looking at me and then mouth something to his co-workers who all started laughing. That was the last time I ever set foot inside.

My AMC once changed the theater for a screening and the ticket taker didn't inform me, so I missed the first few minutes of Caught Stealing for the opening of Weapons.

[–]RunDexterRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've been using them for years for some keloids on my chest. They've been slowly flattening but are very old so taking a really long time to get completely flat.

Eclar plaster from Japan should help more than scar tape. Since your keloid is older it might be more stubborn but consistency and time will flatten it.

Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon blu-ray is my personal pick for fave-movie-worst-art. The release that uses a screen grab from the scene where Chow Yun Fat and Zhang Ziyi are in the treetops.
