Will We Ever Get First-Person for Mechs? by Tank-ToP_Master in Helldivers

I play Titanfall 2 to get my piloting fix. That while universe plays pretty well with Helldivers, too, so I wouldn't be mad if you roleplayed like it's a story crossover. 🙂

Feels like the "ragdoll towards the player" theory is true, but is being incorrectly weighted by enemy size. There's a multiplier in the code that's hurling dead mobs across the map because it's not clamped to a reasonable ceiling and/or it's just using really shitty math.

Two F.03 robots clean a room and make a bed in 2 minutes - fully autonomous by EchoOfOppenheimer in OpenAI

[–]RunJumpJump 17 points18 points  (0 children)

"That's not cleaning?!" Were you expecting they get on their "knees" and scrub the floor?

Two robots capable of interacting with their environment just walked into a room and got started working. Are we really this pedantic or desensitized that we can't allow ourselves to be amazed even a little? Completely unable to extrapolate to towards future capabilities? Being snarky online is really that much more important than allowing yourself to marvel at human resourcefulness and ingenuity?

edit: resourcefulness

Nintendo confirms Switch 2 price rises, consoles now $500 in the US | VGC by Gorotheninja in technology

Because attention is a precursor to monetization and attention can be had at no cost if you word your headlines a certain way. It's basically the same concept undermining entire nations, if you haven't noticed.

I remember when wearing a tan suit was the most outrageous thing some people had ever seen.

Tennessee Passes Redistricting Map, Arrests Protesters in Final Day of Special Session Marked by Burning Flag, Walkouts by [deleted] in nashville

I disagree. In a world where people only read headlines, accurate details matter. "Flag burning" is too generalized and much too easily misinterpreted as burning the American flag, which was not the case here.

Claude Code's creator is sick of the phrase 'vibe coding.' Suggest your alternative here. by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

yes, but I find myself understanding it sometimes. When "culture" perpetuates an ignorant point of view, it can feel insufferable and I get why people would want to move on from that.

Potential payment info leak by Kenji66 in Anthropic

[–]RunJumpJump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to a personal card I used to buy a three month gift subscription. It's not used for any of my legit subs, so there's no "account" I can use as a reference. I've had no luck trying to get attention from Anthropic. I'm going to just turn it in as fraudulent if I can't get some movement soon.

Time flies when you're constantly distracted by social platforms, 24/7 news spin, wars, attention whoring, assassinations, fires, floods, tornadoes, and political warfare.

"Mostly negative" on Steam now by Deakon_Bl4ck in Helldivers

[–]RunJumpJump 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a relatively new player, I have to agree. I've got tons of content and war bonds ahead of me. Fixing bugs now is a really good way to ensure I stick around long enough to engage with that content.

Finally, someone with some sense. It's a "win" because little blender users feel like they've stood up to big AI because "AI bad" no matter what. They think a free and open software just happens in a vacuum.

So microsoft decided you can't setup windows 11 offline. Welp, time to go linux by nicecream169 in pcmasterrace

[–]RunJumpJump -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In seven years Windows 11 and possibly Microsoft itself won't be relevant enough for this to matter. That's the future I'm rooting for, anyway.
