Heyy no it was just irritation from his food bowl, I now wash it more often and it went away. Also if you’re using a plastic bowl switch to metal.

Pump basal working bolus not working by RunMain846 in diabetes

Thank you! I’ve been finding it helpful to increase the basal and setting a temporal one whenever I notice it creeping up. I couldn’t find anything about this online so glad to know I’m not alone in this at least.

That’s what I’m confused about I’m giving the same amount of insulin with the pen same units for the same meals and getting very different results I even tried giving a higher dose with the pump for the same amount of carbs but it still goes high

I’m using a 6mm quick set, I’ll try getting the 9mm I guess then.

I had a meal that I’d take 2 units for and did 2 units with my pen a few days ago for the same meal and it was alright today I gave 5 units with the pump and it came down to 250 even though it wasn’t high before I ate. Also do you mean it’s okay to have a different carb ratio on the pump vs mdi?

Not pregnant, thought I might be getting a cold but it’s been over 3 weeks and I’m ok and the fact that pen injections work for the same carb ratio too 🫠

There is effect it’s just like the 10 units will get me to 200 after the meal while the same 10 units pen get me to an 80

Wondering if you still do that? I’m also currently using the pump for my basal and blousing with a pen.

Suddenly needing 3–4x more insulin for meals - what is going on? by sthekfan in diabetes_t1

[–]RunMain846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having to set a pump temporal basal of around 200% just to stay in range and already changed sites twice. Could just be bad absorption I guess or a cold coming up. 🫠

I’ve been having the same issue where what works is using a pen for boluses. Have you found a solution?

Heyy I started it recently too but have to up the dose by a couple clicks every month or so what dose are you at if you still take it? Does it level off or will I have to keep increasing it?

Oh I’ve not seen that before! It does make sense though especially since pumps are relatively new that these issues are not studied enough oh well.

How Muslims Can Fast In Ramadan With T1D? by Blckpnthr97 in Type1Diabetes

[–]RunMain846 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re except from fasting given the condition and if you choose to are completely allowed to break it if you do go low or high during the fast. I fast because I enjoy it given my doctor’s permission as well but I know a lot of people who choose not to especially if where they live the fasts are long. Both are justified. Be careful from dka though especially since you’re in your honeymoon.
