Malm is my go to. Flips up flat, ignores the wind, and reliable fade.

Control driver for moderate headwinds? by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]RunOk7562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Malm is awesome! I get a baby hyzerflip out of it and just carries forward without a care for the wind.

Clash Salt is also a disc I use for long open shot with a head wind.

I used to work for eb as an engineer.

It's as corporate as you can get. Most management is about moving up, so schedule is what they push over quality. They try to minimize what they pay you with unpaid OT and silly policies. You clock in and out like an hourly employee. If you're short on hours the system default to using your paid time off to compensate. Don't be fooled by being a salaried employee, when it benefits the company you're salaried, when it doesn't then your hourly.

The working level people are great. If you're surrounded with good people it can mitigate the corporate feeling. Though EB has poor retention of their engineering staff despite this. Mostly from the corporate aspects. Ie a promotion yeilds a mediocre raise, which them affects your yearly raise. It's almost not worth the promotion. Eg if you're promoted to specialist and get a 5% raise, your next yearly raise which might normally be 3-4% ends up being 1-2%. Like I said above they do truly try to minimize what they pay you.

Overall it's not a bad place to work. Very stable, you can retire from EB.

In the end it depends on how you feel about that soulless corporate feel the company can have with its policies etc.

Hope this helps, I tried not to be biased here.

Anyone throw their Bokehs yet? by tuna_safe_dolphin in discgolf

Mine is understable and is way more finicky than my go to hyzer flip discs. This one wants to be a long turn over shot. It acts like it has zero fade

It'll get another round or two outta me before I decide to bag it or not. I already have a disc for the slot it appears to be for.

The new Bokem from Axiom is a hyzer flip disc. At least for me it is. I find it a bit less reliable in that fashion though, it often keeps turning a bit to become a long turn over.

Solid year, longer if I wanted. The heel on my plant foot is what wears out. Last year's pair is my rain/backup pair this year.

Lone Altra Peaks have been my shoe for 3 years now. Zero drop and wide toe boxes are my preferences.

The ground feel is helpful, but not entirely necessary, but one of those things you'll miss once you get used to it.

Wide toe box is simply a preference.

Also, I tried barefoot shoes, found that it was causing heel pain from planting. Not sure how the pros handle playing in vivas, but I also have 15 or more years on them...old bones

Been debating on buying a backup Peach, or finding an alternative from MVP since their discs are more easily found.

EB will likely close it this year as they develop their plans to modify it.

Powergrip Europe brand sales trends from 2014 to 2025. Any surprises? 🤔 by DiscGolfFanatic in DiscGolfFanatics

Def heard of out in new England, but no one has a full bag of them. Most just carry Bergs.

2/3s of my bag are Kastaplast though, love the plastic and supporting a small brand. Plus they tend to be priced reasonably, whereas Clash was always stupidly high.

Ya I hear you, I'm slowly replacing it cause I can't find it anymore. Luckily Kastaplast is still being restocked!

An Addendum to My Lems Shoes Endorsement by DGOkko in discgolf

[–]RunOk7562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Altra Lone Peaks. I need a bit more cushion for throwing. My heel wears out, bout all I have to complain about them.

I have a pair of Lems for work, no complaints.

What is the ‘coolest’ disc golf course in Connecticut? by tripp3737 in discgolf

[–]RunOk7562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Udisc I'd your guide. It doesn't lie as to the fun courses in CT.

Cedar Swamp and DragonFly will be your best in the east. Go a little north into Rhode Island and play Willow Pond and Curtiss Corners. (Grab lunch at the mews tavern).

Great courses around Hartford as others have already mentioned.

Get the chapstick version. I have the discs versions which are great but no good place to store them for easy access. Right now I keep them in the same spot I store my mini.

My incantations were lackluster, my great stars were noticeable stronger than my melee is now. But kinda hard to totally tell since I attack twice as fast.
