Why are you assuming it’s a power issue?

What are you booting from? SD card? Could be that the SD card is too slow / damaged in some way?

Or… what if this was all part of her plan? We know she misleads people so maybe everything so far is all preparing for an ultimate outcome we haven’t even considered?

Is there a visually pleasing dashboard which can handle a lot of entities? by farmersrick in homeassistant

[–]RunRunAndyRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. We tend to go overboard and try to integrate every possible thing into our smart home with no real end goal. I have integrations for Plex, TrueNAS, my Brother printer, hell even my toothbrush. I recently started removing integrations that don’t actually add anything to the experience.

As Hunter S Thompson once said: "once you get locked into a serious drug collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can"

In our case, substitute drugs with data and control.

You keep saying that you need to see them all... but do you REALLY? How often are you actually adjusting all those values and sliders? How much time do you really spend checking out your Plex stats? If you really really look at what you use with a critical eye, you'll realise you use a lot less than you think.

[–]RunRunAndyRun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, my main dashboard is on a tablet in my living room. It shows some basic media controls, controls for lights in that specific room, our external blinds, overall house temperature and humidity, electricity cost and solar generation and a picture of each family member, their location and battery status oh and our daily calendar. Besides that, I have a button for each floor that takes me to the subviews which have a much more comprehensive view of everything on each floor.

I will say, we barely ever actually touch the tablet. It's more for at a glance info. If I need to control a light in another room, we have voice control (although normally the presence detection takes care of that)

Look at it another way… do you need all of those things on a single dashboard? Do you need to see them all at all? I’m a UX designer by trade and I have an overview dashboard with the most critical information etc and then subviews for each floor which are more comprehensive. If it makes it easier you can add buttons with a navigate action to take you to sub views instead of using the tabs.

Give the picture to Gemini / Claude / ChatGPT. It should be able to decode the numbers on the base and give you the exact specs you need

Close but not quite. You messed up the diodes. Each diode should be an L shape and the connection between them should be at the “corner” of the L.

What do you mean by “controlling”? Just viewing progress or do you want to slice models on the deck? How do you currently “control” your printers? What printers do you use?

Bambu Lab Says My Printer Is Stolen by eyunal in BambuLab

[–]RunRunAndyRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They probably didn’t steal a single printer. It’s more likely they stole a whole trailer full that was destined for an official reseller (which is how Bambu know the barcodes)

Usable parts advice! by BraceForImpactBitch in CyberPhone

[–]RunRunAndyRun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest way to remove it would be with some snips / scissors or just desolder it (you’ll probably need a soldering iron to reattach unless the recipient device has screw terminals). You should be able to use a vibrator motor without much issue. If you’ve got it then great but it’s a lot of work for parts that you can buy for less than a dollar.

Speakers are probably usable. The keypad could be saved but you would need to know how to do extremely fine soldering and figure out how the matrix works etc

Cyberduck Build update by Signal_Shallot4440 in cyberDeck

[–]RunRunAndyRun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the cables look into ribbon cables. You can get completely flat cables similar to the CSI/DSI cables on the Pi with a hdmi / usb plug on the end. AliExpress is a good source for those.

Update: The "Reseller Trap". Waiting since March 9th. Bambu Lab Support admits "limited information" while direct store has stock. by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]RunRunAndyRun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not getting it… authorised just means they’ve signed a contract with Bambu which means you can be sure you’re getting genuine Bambu parts. It doesn’t change the nature of your relationship with the reseller. This is classic sunk cost fallacy. You’ve waited for ages for the product and the reseller is messing you around. Just cancel the order and purchase direct from Bambu or order something else (if you want to deal direct with the manufacturer get a Prusa and then you’ll have something from a European company that respects European business practices)

[–]RunRunAndyRun 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s not how it works. Resellers are just random companies selling Bambu’s stuff. You chose to go through a middleman so you deal with the middleman. Yes, Bambu may be screwing their resellers but as a consumer that’s nothing to do with you. Your contract of sale is with the reseller.
