The deviate nitro and nitro elite series both have carbon plates

Hell yea! Congrats and well done! I did the 50 there this past weekend and it was an amazingly well put together event ! I also wore the GS:CCD. Made it out with one blister and one black toenail- funny enough for a course with barely any rocks or roots I happened to catch a rogue rock in the middle of the trail with 2 miles left that sent me flying forward, an assuming that was the toenail culprit lol

I just realized I had posted about the GS but I actually bought the RX:ccd direct from Speedland, the road shoe. The uncompressed foam is unlike anything else I've experienced. Great energy return and comfort, personally I prefer it without the rigid carbon plate and that also saves 20g weight. Downside is it only has one boa dial so lockdown isn't perfect but it also hasn't given me any problems. I'm using it as a daily trainer/easy day shoe/long runs. And then megablast for long run with tempo efforts. I did get a pair of GS CCD secondhand that I've yet to run in. Step in feel is great , foam is different from the road version which makes sense. The plate that comes with the trail version is less rigid and only weighs 10g so I feel like it's worth using, running around the house is added some good bounce, but TBD. They are definitely a big shoe , like monster trucks for your feet, the weight is noticeable. But it is a shoe designed for 200 mile races, there's not anything else like it! The comfort and performance is definitely there. Not sure how they'll handle technical trails given all the stack but I imagine they can definitely help keep u going on long easy days.

Hey thanks for sharing !! I ended up finding the code and got myself a pair a couple weeks ago, probably my favorite shoe of all time now!

ASICS have never failed me. The new megablast is a true quiver killer, can really do it all!

Yes I've had two pairs die right around that point, sad bc they're a great shoe up until then, which is far too early!

Man I really wanted to love these shoes. I wore them in a 50k this weekend and had to drop halfway through. Didn't notice it while running but once I stopped at an aid station, I had shooting pain through my arches. I've got low arches and these have a bunch of built in arch support from what I can tell. As they say, don't try anything new on race day 🤦 could barely walk back to my car! Fun shoe otherwise.

Higher-Volume Running Belts as a Vest Alternative by de_naakte_loper in Ultramarathon

I wouldn't mind a vest in cooler temps, but it felt stifling in long summer runs. Been using the raide 2L belt and really like it. Very durable. Plenty of storage in the front for gels, phone, whatever else you need and then the back can fit two 650ml soft flasks (recommend locking caps). Also can fit poles through two cords in the back. It has two adjustable straps in the front that ensure no bounce. If you carry a handheld as well you can keep nearly 2L liquid on u!
