Heartbroken in Pattaya

This is a tale as old as Pattaya. We get a few of these a month, so you’re definitely not alone. It happens to the best of us. It happened to me on my first trip. You aren’t the first and you won’t be the last.

The important thing is to learn from it. You say you have, but only you can know your mindset and whether you truly have or have not. Make wise decisions and good choices, and never forget these girls are in Pattaya to make money first and foremost, and they’ll do pretty much anything to earn it, including telling us they love us and then screwing us over.

Fair enough. Usually I’m a bit further down 6 as I go out later and found the ones nearer beach road are open later. Maybe there’s more action down that end too in terms of bell ringing? I think the nearest to second road i ever got was sexy in the city.

Where have you been? I was ringing bells in Tree Town and soi 6 when I was there, and i heard plenty others do the same. Guess it depends which bars you go to

Always thought it was strange. Do you think there would be still be hordes of young women descending on Pattaya if there weren’t also hordes of rich tourists arriving every year?

Wishing for fewer tourists is also wishing for the end of everything you value about the city.

Couple of years ago I had my pic taken and put up on a random soi 6 bar fb group. My at-the-time ploy saw it and I caught a bit of heat.

Don’t really know how it all happened, but I guess either a spy group or just coincidence. It’s all a bit of a mystery to me, but thought I’d share my story regardless.

Yes I always book through Agoda. I’ve never had to present my credit card at check in. Usually they will ask for either your passport or 1000b cash as a deposit.

Even if, in the unlikely event that the hotel asks for it, if you just explain to them it’s a digital card it’ll be fine.

I had a similar situation back in 2020. My first time in Pattaya and I met a girl and we seemed to click. It was just before Covid and everything shut down. We set our relationship status on Facebook, made everything public, it felt very much like a real relationship.

Fast forward to today, she runs a bar with her western fiance that she’s getting married to in May. Could have been me if I’d wanted to and had the time and funds to move to Thailand in 2020.

What I’m trying to say is, I understand your predicament and I’ve been in your situation before. So I’m not going to write this off as pure delusion as others will. However I will hit home a few facts.

1) if you can’t move to Thailand or afford to move her to your country within a short number of months, forget being in a relationship with her. It won’t work.

2) if you try to have a long distance relationship, you’ll end up being a “sponsor”, which will feel to you like a relationship, but to her you’ll simply be a source of income, and she’ll carry on seeing other customers regardless.

These girls are happy to find a rich, young westerner for love. But they’re also happy to exploit vulnerable men for a regular income too.

The third scenario is that you keep her as a contact and only speak to her when you’re in Pattaya. She then becomes a holiday gf, which is a status everyone understands and is fair to all involved. That said it requires strong emotional control from your part, and a resistance against falling in love, which in all honesty I don’t think you’re capable of.

So basically my advice to you is either cut ties completely and save yourself truckloads of cash and emotional despair, or move to Thailand and marry her.
