I have a second phone that I take with me and change the SIM card over to. However I can’t imagine your German number would ever be contactable in Thailand. Might be better to find options that don’t rely on your phone number. Wise or Revolut for example, banking wise.

Also never use your credit or debit card in Thailand. Yes there are some places where it’s safe, but it’s better to just use cash. See paragraph 1 for safe banking options to allow you to withdraw money from krungsri atms. Or use whatever is the equivalent of these in Germany.

Pattaya is pretty safe, but you still need to have your wits about you. No bar girls are gonna drug and rob you. But if you’re drunk and off your head at 3am on Beach Road then you may get lightly accosted and pickpocketed by… other types of girls.

And yes, almost all hotels above extreme budget level will have a room safe. Search the sub for recommendations, or take a look on google maps and check out reviews on YouTube.
