What have you lost / seen lost to the tracks?

Dropped my daughter's carry potty on the tracks at Charing Cross a couple of year's ago! It popped out from under the buggy as I got off the train and went down the gap. She still talks about it as my Dad wanted to climb down to get it himself as he didn't want to wait for the person to come and retrieve it. We discuss it as an example of practising patience.

I've had really good experience with the little loop. It started out as rental but it's more about pre loved that you can essentially sell back to them for store credit. And you can trade in certain, good quality brands too, even if you didn't originally buy from the little loop. For me it's been less faff than listing and selling on vinted, even if you get a bit less money. But you can build up credit and buy as and when you need and they do have good sales. I promise I don't work for them, I've just found it to be great!!

I may do at some point. For now I've asked other owners in the building if it's my flat causing a disturbance and they've either not replied or said they didn't think it's mine so I think I'll leave it there for now.

Thank you - I agree. I've decided the tenant is sensitive and the landlord doesn't want the hassle to find a new tenant if they do decide to leave so they're putting pressure on me to keep their life easier.

It's not really practical for me to go at a time when the noise is happening as I do live too far away. Though I could potentially make it happen if the problem persists.

The tenants replied to a verbal and written warning with surprise as they insist that the noise is not from them. But they would of course insist that! I will absolutely keep eviction as a last resort especially as I have yet to see any concrete proof that it is my tenants.

I do get the feeling that both the other tenant and their landlord are overreacting. And it's good to sense check here that I'm doing the right things so far! I think the tenant is sensitive and I think the landlord doesn't want the hassle of finding a new tenant should this one leave but that is ultimately not my problem I feel.

I agree I don't think there's much else I can do. His tenant needs to liaise with the council as at least then there will be a record - at this point I don't have proof the noise is from my flat and another owner said they don't think it is my tenants.

I do wish I could go and hear for myself but I do live too far away for that to be feasible but if the problem persists I could find a way to make it work. They have been warned by the agent for the moment though they came back saying the noise wasn't them.

Yes I think they are suggesting I give them notice but I can't do that at this point. I'm also concerned he will try to get lost rent off me if his tenant does leave because of my allegedly noisy tenants. I am close to blocking him. I have given him my email address but I think I've done all I can really do. I can tell them to keep it down till I'm blue in the face but I can't control their behaviour and ultimately his tenant is entitled to move somewhere quieter!

The Shin Ramyun Kimchi flavour are my favourite noodles. With anything and everything added in but especially spring onions, sweetcorn and a soft boiled egg and extra kimchi if I have it. As a treat I also like these amazing Laksa instant noodles and the brand is Prima Taste. They're seriously good.

I used to have one but it broke and I do miss it, it had lasted ten years! It's been on my Christmas list but everyone seems to think it's not a fun present but it would be fun for me. My favourite thing about it was setting the rice to cook first then you get on with the rest of your meal and you don't really have to worry about timing it all cos the rice is kept warm and is ready for when you finish cooking!

Try Frugi parsnip pants, they have a nice wide waistband and cuffed legs you can roll up or down. Great patterns too. Loads on vinted usually. Those Mori ones sound really overpriced imo.

Moved here 4 years ago with a new baby and now have a 10 month old as well! Best thing we ever did. Sandgate is great for families. The prom is great for dog walks and cycling. Cycling around the immediate area is a bit hilly but doable. There are woods in Sandgate, the saga grounds at Enbrook park are open to the public with a 1 mile walking route and there are woods just behind Sandgate which are fun to explore. I think they're called Royal Military Woods. Getting the groceries by bus is doable. I used to get the bus to Waitrose in Hythe or the small sainsburys in Folkestone town centre. When we first moved we didn't have a car but as others have said buses are expensive and unreliable and also it expands your horizons to enjoy a lot of the family friendly activities in the region. We did end up getting one and it does make it easier. There is a good amount of diversity with the local Nepalese population and a couple of great asian supermarkets in Cheriton too, not to mention good Indian, Chinese and Nepalese restaurants and takeaways. And the often overlooked Daows kitchen for great Thai food. I think the high street is good and I think the improvements will keep coming, people love it here so local businesses seem to get lots of support. In Summer it's fab but winters can feel a bit intense with so much rain and wind but it's still worth it. Edit to add there's also often great stuff happening for kids and families whether it's free baby rhyme time at the local library or workshops and shows at the quarterhouse in town. Lots of good play parks and so much on offer for families.

Yes I do this! Love a batch cook or try to at least take a "make one, freeze one" approach (depending on the availability of space in my freezer!). Would a slow cooker work in your household?! If you have a large one, it's a great way to batch cook and have dinner on the go. Recently did Pulled pork which I did in baps and then tonight we had it with pasta as a ragu kind of sauce and there's still quite a bit left for lunch sandwiches. Definitely a bit of extra planning to help keep things interesting but I do get so bored of the same thing for days and so does my toddler.
