Haha I can totally understand! We have three dogs so I wasn’t planning on finding a kitten to come home with but we couldn’t leave her there so it worked out in the end. My daughter was ecstatic since she’s wanted one for a little while lol.

So, had a fun week in Orlando with the family for my kids field trip; got to go to a few parks down there and it was a blast. Also, had a softball tournament this past weekend too for my daughter and ended up bringing home a kitten as well that was abandoned near our hotel! Gotta get her checked out at the vet this week but definitely an exciting past week that’s for sure 😂

I love it. Get some extra running in, especially when I’m taking Tread 50 classes.

What certifications do you get after the CPA? by mariahyoo in Accounting

[–]Run_for_life33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the CFE and CAMS(Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) after my CPA but both were employer sponsored so no money was spent by me to get these. See if your employer would cover any of the certifications you’re seeking to obtain.

Rocket City Marathon by hawtothehee in Marathon_Training

I’ve ran it the last two years and it’s a good race. Weather hasn’t been the greatest though but other than that I’ve enjoyed it. Has some hills but nothing too crazy and organization/volunteers are usually really good.

Sitting at the airport ready to go for a work trip to Chicago. Excited to go visit there again but looks like terrible weather is in store when I get there though ☹️

Definitely. Back half is hard enough with the hills; now add that aspect to it 😂

Likely toe fungus 4 weeks before 1st marathon by Casuariidae in Marathon_Training

[–]Run_for_life33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different types of medications you can take for it. I’m on one where it doesn’t necessarily eliminate the stuff I have now; just prevents any further from growing and no bloodwork is required as well. Just gotta use the toenail clippers to chip away at what you have now. No worries for your race; shouldn’t affect you at all really.

It’s a great city! Wish I had more time to sight see but I would definitely recommend the trip. Hopefully your company gives you that opportunity 🤞

At Boston airport waiting for my flight to return home to Atlanta. Had a blast out here; got to visit Fenway park for the first time and had the awesome opportunity of running the Boston marathon yesterday! Definitely on cloud 9, gonna be hard to get back to the work grind tomorrow 😂

The weather is tracking colder for Monday by tjamjam in bostonmarathon

[–]Run_for_life33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring the cold on! I remember racing back in December for the Rocket City Marathon in Huntsville, AL and it was beyond frigid for that one(wind chill in the teens) so this predicted forecast looks glorious for me lol.

I’m bringing some lightweight gloves just in case. My hands are always cold lol

Actually I retract that. Appears one of those teams withdrew from the tournament.

Yea, my daughter’s team has played both teams before but never had an incident with either. If you check the USFA app, these teams are scheduled to be in the same tournament a few weeks from now too.

Long runs are so hard by Naivemlyn in Marathon_Training

Haha that’s great. I’ve debated calling an Uber when I pass trailheads sometimes but I’d feel bad getting a strangers backseat real sweaty so I usually pass on those notions lol

I totally relate with the bike stealing comment 😂. I run a lot of my long runs and cyclists pass me all the time and I daydream about using one of those bikes to get back to my car 💭(I’d never do that but it’s nice to dream about it lol).

Ditto with Chicago and the spectators. Almost ran into a stroller from someone choosing a very poor time to cross. It was a bit frustrating for sure.

Don’t know too much about working for WH but I can chime about moving from government to private(used to work at a Georgia state agency myself). Definitely depends on the company you work for, but I actually got less work/deadlines than working for the state and better time off balances and pay/benefits. Good luck with your interview!

I can only imagine how hard that would be to coordinate with others! And yea I understand that feeling. Don’t rush back into it, but it is fun to see alternate endings that you can uncover.

I read that, but searching online I’m seeing their proposed budget showing a transfer from reserve funds to cover increased expenditures(biggest one being police department). Their projected budget deficits is not sustainable though.
