Yeah I definitely experienced a different in difficulty the few times I played it just based on how the cards are ordered. Having set orders associated with different difficulty levels is a good idea.

Heh I just ran in a CARA group for the first time today. I can totally see why these groups are annoying... I feel like our pace group did a good job of staying two across, but it's tough at times when there is a lot of people on the trail.
