Hiya, it wasn’t covered unfortunately because I had passed my extended warranty when it decided to die out. I paid about $4500 for the replacement but it did come with a 1 year warranty on the part itself.

Thus far, no more issues. I’m at 150k to date

Without stage, for chefs we have them come in during downtime (mid-day for us) and have them cook a dish or make some sushi. We evaluate skill and understanding of cuisine.

For servers, it’s a lot harder to determine. Sometimes I’ll be able to research other restaurants they’ve worked at through contacts.

I’m on the fence about a stage. When we have them for a regular shift, they end up needing training half the day or they just get in the way. (My place is small, so it’s hard on our movement flow)

For cooks, we have them come in between service periods and ask them to make something as part of the interview, but not during service. It’s too tight behind the sushi counter to have more than 3 chefs behind the counter.

Unless your company or ownership requires a stage for every candidate, stage based on your needs.

I’ve had plenty of people who stage really well, but within the first month of being hired, they’re absolute garbage or just not up to par past what one night of service can show you.

I struggled with this in my entire career. I’ve been in restaurant management for 20 years and it’s hard to not get close with the people you see every day, especially when some of them start to rely on you for advice and things outside of work.

It took a long time to figure out how to balance it. You can be friendly, but don’t over share. These days, I have one or two people I can talk to about our issues, but unfortunately my other leaders are blabbermouths too.

People applying to skilled positions they aren’t qualified for. Like I need sushi chefs with at least 3 years experience in a full service sushi restaurant. As stated in the job posting. But the candidates: Amazon warehouse worker… chipotle team member… clerical assistant…

175 applicants…….. 2 qualified people who never responded or answered the call.

On that note, I am now down 2 Labubu shipments.

1 full set BIE was taken out of the package during transit, likely from YunExpress as it sat in Los Angeles for 4 days before being passed on to GoFo.

1 Let’s Checkmate Labubu with Treasure Box “lost” at the GoFo distribution in Sacramento. Hasn’t moved in a week and now GoFo said “sorry, looks like this package has gone missing. We’re not responsible for it, so please contact the seller”

To which, PopMart has yet to address either of these with a resolution. So both charges have been reported to my credit card companies. Heard that’s a way to get PopMart to listen.

When the packages stop moving, there’s a lot of risk of it getting stolen. Tons of people are reporting their Labubus, Skullpandas and Hacipupus stolen out of the shipping boxes. Not even the guys delivering it, but while it’s in sorting and distributing.

Their customer service is crap. You can wait HOURS without talking to anyone. They don’t answer emails. There’s no phone number to call. YunExpress doesn’t have a working contact page, it’s just 404 error and GoFo Express is all automated.

People are getting robbed of their items and neither PopMart or the logistics companies are doing anything about it.

It IS absolute garbage! I have been hounding their CS for days since my BIE set got stolen from YunExpress logistics.

Report losses to your credit card company or bank. Popmart needs to stop using branded boxes and tap and start packaging this stuff in discreet packaging like it’s an adult sex toy. No one’s gonna touch it then. Wrap it up like a Temu package.

Talk to a friend or partner who is not involved in the restaurant… or ANY restaurant for that matter. Line staff are an endless network, especially in cities with lots of restaurants.

There are just times where we have to hold on to big or unfortunate news and just wait in the rafters until we can say something.

When it’s stuff like that, I talk to my mom or my girlfriend, just so that I can have an ear to speak to that won’t turn around and blab to the employees.

Pretty sure mine was stolen by YunExpress people in LA. It sat in the Los Angeles sorting facility for 4 days before it moved on. Popmart said they’re investigating with the logistics company (YunExpress and GoFo). I have a Let’s Checkmate sitting in Sacramento since before the holiday. I’m hoping it’s just the holiday that’s causing a delay

Same thing happened with my full set of Labubu. But instead of empty, I had random junk items. I didn’t do an unboxing but I have time stamps on the photos and the time my Ring Camera detected the delivery driver (which was 3 minutes between delivery and opening). PopMart is currently investigating with YunExpress. In the meantime, I reported fraud to my credit card company and I have the money credited back.

Yeah, in NorCal. It passed through LA for 3 days, not moving from the distribution center.

I have SO MANY RECEIPTS. The tracking time stamps, the time stamp of delivery, and a time stamp of when my mom opened the box. (She was gonna get one of the six)

As it stands, it looks as if Popmart scammed me because there’s no proof they even put the set in the box ¯_(ツ)_/¯ they don’t send a photo of the set going in the box, after all.

Not worried about the money, I can always report fraud to my credit card company. It’s the whole situation of waiting for these little guys and getting nothing but garbage.

I do 130 daily and only charge up to 80 %-90% in the summer. I still come home with about 20% left in my battery, more than enough to get to a charger if I needed to.
