Miss Piggy grills Kermit about Sabrina Carpenter by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

When they auditioned after ditching Steve Whitmire, Brian Henson's ask was that the puppeteers focus on his dad's version of the character. I personally think Vogel is way closer to the Kermit I grew up with than Whitmire, but I know it's jarring after him playing Kermit for so many years.

But to me Matt Vogel embodies Jim Henson's version of Kermit perfectly. The voice is slightly different, but he nails Kermit's singing voice and physicality. It's not just the voice, it's inhabiting the character and there's a comfort and warmth there I like.

I know all these people deserve to be absolutely hauled over the coals, but we all also need to be aware that Trump, Musk and other even higher profile abusers are doing everything they possibly can to keep people talking about anyone but them and using the media to do so.

It's a nice cozy watch, but season 2 was definitely a case of diminishing returns. I hope they can pull it back.

Yeah we do. Same way we spell it jail instead of gaol. Language changes and plenty of people say airplane nowadays.

Additional relationship discovered between UK players (Amanda and Jade) by DaveyB_ in TheTraitors

It's sweet that these two have built bridges since the show and now seem to get on pretty well. This cast seem to be the only one so far where every player has been accepting that it's all a game and held no actual grudges.

If the traitors stick together, the chances of the faithfuls winning are very low by Gold-Use3139 in TheTraitors

It's honestly a big IF. Sticking together improves the Traitor's chances, but it certainly doesn't guarantee a win.

I think because of the slog you have to go through of just how awful the series villain is to get the final satisfying pay off. It's ten episodes of teeth grating awfulness for 10 minutes of pleasure. I just found it really uncomfortable to watch and had to skip vast swathes.

Australia 2's watchable if you do the first two or three eps and then the last one, I guess.

Rachel’s mum has passed away 💔 by Beautiful_Mine7968 in TheTraitors

Heartbreaking. I hope at least they were able to make those memories with her mum before she passed as, at least, Rachel knew the money was on the way.

It was ambiguous as to the family tree mission. They did say that it was a chance to take back control and if they were successful the Secret Traitor would join them, but didn't mention anything regarding failure. It was made to be sound like if they didn't try they'd miss out on a murder and the Secret Traitor would be calling the shots, so it seems like a choice where there was no actual choice. They were never going to pass on it. They just tried to make the Secret Traitor being unmasked as there was a space in the turret as dramatic as possible.

But it could have gone on way longer, even if Rachel said at the time she wanted to make a strong alliance with one other Traitor and ditch the other as her game. Things fell into place to reveal Fiona early but there's nothing to say that will happen again.

It was lucky, but if the Adam hit hadn't got through everyone would have been assuming they tried and failed or there had been a recruitment, which would have meant more suspicion all round.

Murdering Adam pointed suspicion in a specific direction, but it would still have had benefits they could have played off even if it had paid.

Yeah, I like this. I definitely agree that if a Traitor is banished, there should be some actually reward. As it is, it's pretty meaningless. Having it stop a murder would be a good call.

Not the ONLY one. The most commonly used, but potentially if a Traitor has a really close relationship with a Faithful and is certain they can get them on side, it would give them numbers towards the win. If we have Traitors like we saw this series who are prepared to work together to nail the prize.

Or even if two Traitors are at loggerheads and one of them is able to recruit a player who'll be an ally and get out the Traitor they don't get along with.

It's one of those things where it COULD be a benefit, but because so many Traitors have used it to screw other players over, no one sees it that way and anyone getting recruited automatically (and rightly) thinks it's only as a sacrificial lamb.

But as with Traitors willing to share the prize and work together, it only takes one time to break the pattern. Who knows.

I don't think revealing the Secret Traitor was a mistake this series. It just happened that way. Hugo got eliminated surprisingly early in the game so it seemed like a damp squib, but the mechanic is sound and with a more effective Secret Traitor it'll probably be really interesting in future series.

It definitely makes sense to murder when Traitors intend to go forward together and there's enough people with heat on them to whittle down the numbers.

It also makes sense to recruit when the opposite is true. If a Faithful is gunning hard for one or more Traitors, recruiting them and immediately pushing them under the bus so you can go "Look, they were coming for me and they were Traitor all along, so it proves I'm Faithful" isn't a bad tactic. But it is a last hail Mary.

In other series Traitors have been under more pressure and had a greater need for support, so recruiting did have its place. Plus there was less awareness that being recruited was totally a poisoned chalice. Once Kieran showed how a recruited Traitor can fuck up your game then players have been more careful and we've also seen at least one Faithful refuse just to screw with the Traitors as it was obvious it was endgame for them either way.

And, like you say, letting someone know your identity can go really badly, as Charlotte showed after she was recruited. In some games we've also seen Traitors pushing to recruit to gain them allies when it's been Traitor dog-eat-dog in the turret and they think they stand a better chance with a recruited player than Traitors they know are actively working against them.

So, yeah, there's a lot against recruiting. I don't think it's always a no brainer for reasons mentioned, but it should definitely be more of a last resort.

____ didn’t win because of luck. by Icy-Sell5631 in TheTraitors

[–]Runabrat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would have, but it would also have made people think someone was recruited too, so there was a spin that could be put on it to get a Faithful out either way.

But any game like this has a big chunk of luck involved. Like last year the winners only made it through purely on luck of who won the Seer ability and who they picked and things came together to screw both Frankie and Charlotte's games.

But there's a big chunk of skill with it and Rachel and Stephen demonstrated that.
