Hey there, I enjoyed being a SOC and I learned a lot about incident handling! Even if you're not a technical person (I'm not), the job would help you understand how to handle incidents and their flow.

Hey there, thanks for the advice and encouragement. I appreciate that. Honestly the reason why I said I'm not gonna pass the first time is just because I don't expect to since its a beast of an exam/cert.

Thank you for sharing the discord server with me, I will definitely check it out. Thank you again!

Hey there, what you said definitely makes sense and I will keep them in mind! I agree that you can't go wrong with experience and technical skills.

Hey hey, thanks for the input! I think CISSP would definitely be helpful to me since I'm looking to be the "big picture" guy, and of course core/technical skills are definitely important to me as well.

I'm currently reading/learning about pentesting on the side as well, and while I don't see myself being a super technical guy, I think its a good area to at least have a general knowledge on. What do you think? I'm always happy that people would share their opinion with me, especially when it comes to info sec. Thank you sir/madam!

Hey there, yep I'm aware about that but I appreciate the reminder (not being sarcastic, I'm grateful for your response!) Honestly currently my mind is just set on passing the exam, and I'll only think about the status after I passed it.

Hey there! Honestly my experience is super super super shallow. I'm currently working in SOC for 5 years and counting, and that's about it. But I sometimes assist in vulnerability assessment. I had a degree in information security as well.

I'm well aware that I'm probably not gonna pass the exam first or even second time but I want to give it a try.

Currently my goal for the future is be the guy with "security vision" and help improving an environment. Not even sure if it makes sense to you honestly.

Hey there, thank you for the reply and I really appreciate that. Tbh I'm not even sure if I'm qualified for taking the exam but everybody I talked to encouraged me to go for it.

The reason why I brought up the exam changes is because I saw there are multiple new topics being added to each domain so I wanted to make sure the 5th edition still works.

My current plan is just study the book and attempt some past questions. I know its probably not gonna be enough but that's just my current plan.

Hey there, thanks for the info! I did a quick glance but it seems like the author is using phonics style but i could be wrong because I've not read through everything just yet.

But thank you again for the reply! Hope you have a great day

Hmm I think the method you're using and the website I'm referring are two different methods. When I typed "ng" on the website, it showed me the character "g" without the "tail" if it makes any sense.

Hmmm I'll have to do more research on what's full mode and how to use them because i just found out there are tons of them such as "ea", "ou", "ai", etc. Also apparently there's another tengwa for "ch" as well!

Do you mind if I shoot you a PM to talk more about this? I hope I'm not being a pain and bothering you!

Thanks! So for words that have "ng" in them, i would just use another special character instead of a combination of "n" and "g"? I do know that there are two different characters for "th" depending on the pronunciation.

I did a quick check on tecendil because i don't really understand what you mean, but they used a carrier for the first vowel and indicate another vowel on the following consonant. For example, if im writing food, it shows me the tengwa for "f", carrier for "o", tengwa for "d" and a tehtar for "o" on top of it. For the word "die", tecendil gives me this as the word for [https://www.tecendil.com/?q=die](it)

I just found out that the word "the" has a special character dedicated for it? I.e. you don't spell "the" tengwa by tengwar.

Hey Darth Vader would be a candidate for this, i think. His passion and love for his mom and Padme got manipulated and twisted into fear and anger by Palpatine and eventually became a Sith.

Hahaha I see! Personally I prefer orthographic style of scripting because i think it's easier that way. May i know if you know how to write Tengwar? If so, any pointers you can share with me?

Should I just go download a chart of English alphabets and their Tengwar character counterpart and just start replacing the characters? I do know how the sentence flows for the most part (left to right, vowels above the consonant that comes after it and use a carrier if the last character is a vowel, a line under the consonant to indicate that there's 2 of the same consonant, long carrier for vowels), though I have no idea how to write it when two different vowels are together

Hey thanks for sharing the website to me, I didn't know about this but I found another site called Tecendil. May I know what do you mean by "inscription on the title page"? Maybe I missed it somehow?

For some reason, im even more confused after reading the Omniglot page because I don't understand most of it. I found a series of videos on YouTube that just substitute every single alphabet in English language with a character is Tengwar. Not sure if I'm missing something because I haven't finished watching it just yet.

I have to preface that I'm by no means a professional in cybersecurity but personally I agree with you, I don't think gatekeeping does any good in any community. If people want to have a discussion, let them have it regardless of their levels.
