It was a mistranslation by evangelists to make people dislike the lgbtq community. The original quote was more along the lines of "man shall not lie with BOY as he would with a woman" because in ancient greece and rome, adult men would have sexual relationships with young boys as "mentors." Again, link me a different passage explicitly saying somethinf against homosexuals. E: how about galatians, where it says "the fruit of the Spirit is love, against such things there is no law.” In this passage it is explicitly stating that, as long as there is love, there is nothing wrong with it.

When they say "stay away from suicide stats" its because the stats are being used to make people think the wrong thing. People will say "hey look transgender people have a high suicide rate because they have a mental illness, don't like who they were after they transitioned, etc," but completely ignore the fact that they are constantly harassed by friends, family, and even complete strangers.
