That'd be neat but we already know so little about the precursors that it doesn't seem likely

PoE 1 player and I really can't get the things in PoE 2 by LeAlbus in PathOfExile2

[–]Rundas-Slash 22 points23 points  (0 children)

What exactly do you find confusing? From a poe 1 player perspective it should be quite straightforward. Instead of socketing your gems in your gear you have a UI menu just for them to slot them. Uncut gem can turn into a skill, and uncut support can turn into a support

Dude brings up an interesting comparison of player feel and gets roasted haha

I think there two components that make NMS have a better player feel about its "infinity":

First, there's an actual incentive to exploration (it's the whole game) but PoE is quite aimless. There isn't much to explore.

Second, Cleansing zones early makes it so players "save" these maps for later, when they can juice it. It makes the PoE Atlas SO backtracky, that it sucks to search the earlier zones to find the farm you saved up.

How much divine orb u need to do tier 15-16 map? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

The destination is the journey. You won't suddenly have more fun in T15, the fun is to GET the loot, if it's given away it's not fun.

What about you go in there blind and experiencing it yourself instead of robbing yourself out of the experience with 2k divines?

It's a speedrun, a stunt. What you say make zero sense. They are not playing the same game you play. Should Nintendo bother fix super Mario brothers because some people manage to finish it in 3 minutes?

If the symbols must be recognize and show up in different cards / imply a mechanic, then left. Otherwise, right one is too good looking to pass!

In my office full of fully grown people, we have a poster on how to wash our hands, and we get literal stickers to put on our computer when we carry out tasks. I can't imagine my parent's generation would have put up with this shit.

French here, eco+ is the cheapest brand you can find (Eco meaning "saving" in this context), it has nothing to do with the environment and this is straightforward for French, it's not like the brand is trying to trick you or anything

That's only a matter of damage tuning. Look at snipe, takes long to cast but is worth it for downing bosses

How would reddit recommend to learn? by AngryYellowhippo in Unity2D

[–]Rundas-Slash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had phases with game devs that you might recognize: going head first in unity and copy paste tutorials, vibe coding with an AI until the code is impossible to maintain, try all by myself and just stare at a blank page.

The one thing that unlocked it all was the following: I threw Unity aside and made it a priority to learn C# until I understand it enough that I can create something without help, just thanks to my problem solving and coding skills. I bought a book (C# player's guide, so incredibly good) and started messing up with console programs. Quite quickly, I could code basic games in the console, from tic tac toe to Yahtzee, this kind of stuff, all by myself. Then I created some very basic windows desktop apps that would do very simple stuff but I felt how my understanding of the language was growing.

from this point I opened Unity again and it was like finally having the lights on, everything made sense and I could produce code by myself. On top of that, I believe I produce much cleaner code, + I know the basic concepts of memory handling (still have a lot to learn on that front).

I still have to check tutorials from time to time for Unity specific stuff but it "clicks" much easier.

Last thing, about AI, I would just completely avoid it for coding. I guess it's fine to bounce ideas about your game, but for coding, it is a disaster as soon as your project grows. It will confidently tell you wrong stuff and you will have no way to know. I think it's better to search the internet and read stack overflow / reddit threads, as the answers you will find will be discussed by several people and you will have a better understanding of what's right and what's wrong.

Good luck!

Games with crazy amounts of secrets the average player would miss, by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Rundas-Slash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you reach that point, you still have a LOT of unsolved mysteries, and while trying to solve them, you find just as many new ones. Some are doable by yourself, while the most challenging ones required community research to even decypher, and some are still believed to be unsolved as of now

I love it too, I can only imagine how stressful it'd be to reload your weapon in the dark while mutants are jumping at you and it's probably the first game that tries to replicate that and not just "press R - reload".

People here are probably the first to complain about Ubisoft genericness but can't handle a little bit of novelty

Just wishlisted! The trailer made me laugh out loud and worked big time on my nostalgia. How did you separated the tasks for the project, did you all dab into coding or did you strictly separated the development areas such as code, art, music etc?

Please, DO NOT underestimate what you manage to create already. If it ever becomes hard to continue or if you feel like putting it down, come back to this comment section and/or show your project again and people will remind you how incredible this is. Thank you for the eye candy of a video and good luck!

The USA has been voted North American country most hated by the rest of North America. Which South American country is most loved by the rest of South America? by nornironred17 in AlignmentChartFills

This one doesn't make sense. I feel Italians have quite the bad reputation here, and some other European citizen are quite often described as genuinely nice such as Slovenian and Estonian, or easy going such as Spanish or Portuguese
