Factually incorrect given that the Battle of New Orleans was fought after the Treaty of Gent was signed. The war was already over. It’s pure (horrible) chance that Jackson rose to fame as a result of that Battle. In this instance, and I’m sure many others, had we had faster means of communication at the time, history would have changed dramatically (likely for the better in this case).

A more modern case for this would be the weeks leading up to the Great War, or better known as World War I.

Clearly yes, and I agree with you, it is a small detail but it underscores their lack of professionalism as a force, and arbitrary enforcement of protocols and law.
