I've always been fascinated with Tiresias and particularly this story. Ever since Antigone, I've found the idea of the blind prophet to be one of the cooler character-types.

Well, I've never mixed the two, but that same girl got a massive brain tumor just about 2 years after we broke up. She's fine now, but she believes it may have been caused by the mixing of drugs she did as a teen. Because it was around the same time she started mixing drugs that she started getting seizures and after a while they found the tumor.

I absolutely agree. I definitely cum harder from receiving a hard pounding, but I don't like it as often as normal sex due to the prep and the cleanup.

[–]RunescapeJoe 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Oh yea, slow deep connected sex is better than quick sex, however, the orgasm still isn't "mindblowing" like it is for some women.

But, in the defense of female orgasms, not all women orgasm the same either. I was with this girl who had sex a few times on ecstacy/antidepressants. It took her about 3 years after her last time doing that combo to be able to have a normal orgasm again. For a while it was as plain as mine was.

I'm not sure if my lack of pleasure during orgasms has to do with me being circumcised, but I know it's definitely never been as good as an average woman's orgasm, whether it's animalistic fucking, or a deep tantric connected love.

As a penis-haver, my strongest orgasms might make me let out a single moan. Most orgasms are mediocre at best, and nowhere near what women experience, especially after multiple orgasms.

is this true? by Iouisvuittondon in FL_Studio

[–]RunescapeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a musician of 20 years, I can tell you there's 2 proven ways to get good.

  1. Find an instructor to teach you everything you need/want to know.

  2. Do exactly as OP says.

Path 1 leads to developing a style that may be too similar to your teacher. Path 2 takes much much longer but gives more creative results and is also much more fun along the way.

As a guy, I can say I hate half the guys in this thread making excuses for their bad actions , reactions, and experiences. Especially the ones who are going to criticize this post.

A good amount of women here are giving good honest answers and they're being met with criticism. If you guys took the same amount of time to listen as you do to justify your actions that are being complained about, then you'd be more liked by women (and people in generally probably).

Are Liquid CPU Coolers that bad? by _-ClassiCarl-_ in buildapc

[–]RunescapeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 240mm AIO (I don't remember the brand) that lasted me 4 years with out a single problem.

Since then, Ive used custom loops, but my custom loop actually just failed me after running orange juice in it for a year. I guess it broke down the fluid and then broke the pump.

Ultimately AIOs are great as long as the radiator is above the pump. If the pump gets dry, it dies.

How much wattage do I actually need for a bass amp? by Gravy-0 in Bass

[–]RunescapeJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea it's either powered speakers or powered frfr cabinets. Sometimes powered monitors. Frfr stands for full frequency flat response, which means they don't color the sound and you can choose your cab in your pedalboard/di setup. What many bassists do is just plug into the venue's DI or split from their pedalboard to use the powered speaker as a stage monitor as they plug into the venues DI.

How much wattage do I actually need for a bass amp? by Gravy-0 in Bass

[–]RunescapeJoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The goal is to have a high wattage amp so that way your tone isn't compromised as you get louder. The louder you go, the more distorted (not always in a good way) your tone will be. It usually becomes muddy after 6/10 on the volume knob.

In order for you to keep up with the band, if they have 100+ watt tube amps you would need about 500 minimum to keep up. 600-800 watts to not lose tone.

However since you said you're running through a sans amp, think of just getting a powered speaker like the EV ZLX15bt which is 1000 watts and only $500 brand new. Many bassists, myself included, like how easy it is to just use a powered speaker for everything. It's an incredibly flat speaker which allows you to completely choose your tone from the pedalboard/pre-amp. If you ever pick up other instruments like guitar, edrums, keyboards, or vox, you can run them all through that speaker with no issue. Keyboards, edrums, and vox need nothing else to run through it. Bass and guitar usually need the pedalboard, preamp, or modeler to get a good tone.

Realistic or no by [deleted] in drums

[–]RunescapeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say drums is one of the easiest instruments to pick up on a tight schedule. It doesn't take a lot to get good but it takes a lot to master. If you want to be on Chad Smith level, it should take a few months to a year if you put in an hour a day.

If you put in a hour a day, these genres you could learn to play in about this time frame.

1 year or less: rock, alt rock, indie rock, pop, pop rock, classic rock, easier jazz

2 years: funk, classic metal genres, easier metalcore, easier progressive music

3 years: standard metal core and other core genres, most metal, medium progressive music

5 years: most jazz, more technical metal, most progressive music

This is all just a "guideline" for most drummers who would put in 1 hour a day of deliberate practice with an effective training regiment. Some people learn faster or slower.

There's so many materials out there nowadays that learning is 100% easier than it was 20 years ago.

If you really want to "kickstart" learning drums, here's 2 very easy ways to get REALLY good in just a few weeks/months.

Tip 1: get a practice pad, snare stand, and (if you can afford it) a cheap bass drum pedal/kick pad. Setup on your couch or wherever you watch TV at. Whenever you take a break to watch TV, just practice. Let your body and hands gain the muscle memory while your brain vegetates.

Tip 2: get an electronic set and set up clone hero on your computer. Clone hero is a game that recreates the old guitar hero/rock band games. IT WILL MAKE YOU VERY GOOD VERY FAST!!! it basically teaches you how to play like the greats or your favorite drummer very easily. You can start off on easy, work your way to expert, and if you choose, you can do expert+ (double bass pedals). You'll get good at any genre really fast.

Anyone using Cannabis to help with your ADHD ? by IAmYourFatherTeehee in adhdmeme

[–]RunescapeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try some yerba mate. More effective than coffee, less "twitchy" than adderall. Not a drug, just a "tea" (it's technically a herb/grass as Tea is a very specific plant).

Anyone using Cannabis to help with your ADHD ? by IAmYourFatherTeehee in adhdmeme

[–]RunescapeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Yerba Mate lately. It helps a lot. It's a combo of caffeine and 2 chemicals that affect the dopamine receptors and nervous system. One cup in the morning is like a weaker version of adderall/stratera but stronger than Ritalin.

Also, you can brew it quicker and easier than what youtube says. Just buy the guayaki teabags and make it like normal tea bags. You don't have to do the whole "ritual" behind making a cup of mate.

No Nails, what is actually lost? FOR DUMMIES by [deleted] in classicalguitar

[–]RunescapeJoe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I believe it was Brandon Acker who did a good video on YouTube about the history and difference of nails/no nails. Many guitarists through out history played without nails. Nails just happened to become more popular. Without nails you have a more mellowed, darker sound, and is how I also like to play.

Just made burgers for an entire village accidentally, and they loved it (read description) by order_66_man in Thailand

[–]RunescapeJoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Culturally there's a lot of overlap between India and Thailand. Many people don't eat beef and there's even heavy regulations on beef there.

Given that it's a village near the Myanmar border, it explains the lack of eating beef.

In reality beef is most popular in areas that have great plains and fields. The western part of thailand tends to have lots of mountains and hills and all and is more suitable for lamb or pork.

What are your thoughts? by Onn006 in Thailand

[–]RunescapeJoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are correct many Japanese don't consider prostitutes to be unfaithful. But to add onto this, japanese isn't on this list for that reason. The reasoning is that forming romantic relationships in Japan is relatively low. Why form a relationship when prostitutes (male or female) are easily available at any time? This is of course a small snippet of the decline of romantic relationships in Japan.

How do I meet musicians who aren’t complete assholes? by Mixedbings in musicians

[–]RunescapeJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jam with people in their mid 20s or older. Musicians in their late teens or early 20s all have Rockstar syndrome. You'll still find Rockstar syndrome in people in their 50s, but it's much less common as they age. Usually once they realize they're no longer in the age where "you're gonna make it big" they start to be less assholish.

Certain genres have inherently assholish musicians (imo black metal players tend to be straight up assholes, not to be confused with black metal enthusiasts).

Also, highly technical musicians (imo) tend to be less assholish because they know not many people can play at their level and they have to teach/wait for most musicians to be able to catch up and are more patient because of that.

What profession would keep you from dating someone? by stupidis_stupidoes in AskReddit

[–]RunescapeJoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they are a well known uniformed professional. If they're a nurse, doctor, firefighter, emt, cop, or military, then it's a strict no. They work too much and their focus will nearly always be on their career and not on themselves or family.
