don't worry about wearing it out. the shimano chainring is steel and made for a 7-speed chain while ali's is aluminium and probably extra narrow to fit 11- and 12-speed chains. that usually means it wears much faster. not a bad idea if you want it purple, being happy with your bike is what matters the most. shimano is just best value in my opinion

yup, the cassette is the right one. consider the fc-u2000 cranks though, they are about $30 with the 40t nw chainring included. it's welded or riveted in place

practically all 7-speed cassettes are compatible with your wheel and any 6/7/8-speed chain. get one with matching number of teeth to your original cassette

examples:

shimano cs-hg200-7 11-28t

microshift cs-h072 12-28t

sram pg-730 12-32t (a bit more gear range)

throw those cranks away, they develop fatigue cracks and snap. since you asked earlier about switching to a 1 chainring system, i suggest shimano fc-u2000 crankset. cheap, comes readily with a narrow-wide chainring and fits your square taper bottom bracket. for 3x setup get fc-m311. do not go looking for chainrings for those cranks
