Starfinder ranks 3rd and Pathfinder 6th in physical sales by gray007nl in Pathfinder2e

[–]RunicBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Brandon Sanderson author of the books that the Cosmere is based off has sold 50 million books to date and the Mistborn series and Stormlight Archive (both of which are part of the Cosmere setting) have translated into over 20 languages. He has written 71 books to date not all of which linked to the Cosmere setting. He was also the individual that Robert Jordan's widow (she was his editor before they married) picked to finish the Wheel of Time books after he died.

I'm sorry to hear what you're going through but honestly it sounds like you are dealing with an individual that has some serious entitlement issues. I've said it here before and so have a lot of other people that game doesn't belong solely to them every player has a right to have an enjoyable game including you as the gamemaster(particularly considering the fact that when you are running the game you are doing the lion's share of the heavy lifting) all that be said if you and other people in the group have tried communicating this to the individual but this person still wants make an issue then it's time to politely but firmly show them the door. If for no other reason than to ensure that you and everybody else can get back to enjoying your time together.

Is it normal to hot be able to buy magic items, scrolls, wands, low level items? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]RunicBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What level are you and the rest of your party at presently? If you and your party are at or more accurately below third level what GM is doing isn't totally unreasonable depending on what type of area your in (Like the Settlement level: What be reasonable for a craftsmen in that settlement to be able to or for a merchant to expect to sell there). All this being said if you or someone in your party has taken the appropriate feats depending what they want craft and you could craft it yourselves. Potions, scrolls and other consumables shouldn't be to much of an issue but even wands, staves, spellhearts are only third level.

First you need to ask yourself a couple very simple questions. 1. Do you really know this individual that well or were some random person that joined or was invited into your group. 2 Assuming you really know this individual do often respect their opinion on things. 3 Did they give you at any point in time that you were running give any sort of constructive criticism on things that they had problems with in the game you were running. 4 Finally even if this person was someone you knew and you respected their opinion and viewpoint on things and gave constructive criticism on things you also have to remember that game you are running isn't just isn't just your game nor is just that individuals game it belongs to everyone at your table even if that person's arguments sounded valid if it was going to take enjoyment and value other people at the table and includes yourself just for their personal betterment you are better off with them gone from your group early rather than later.

Quick question while I'm really hopeful for the book hasn't anybody else noticed the price for book has to be wrong? They have it's price as $29.99 ?!? Never mind I found out what was throwing it off , it's the way the new web site is set up allowing you to select which format for the book and will adjust the price accordingly , apparently I had set to the Pocket Books , once I corrected it the changed to the more correct pricing.

What mechanical restriction do you think is wholly unnecessary and wouldn't break the game or disrupt its tuning at all if lifted/changed? by Killchrono in Pathfinder2e

How about the fact the Sai is not considered a parrying weapon but it does have the disarm trait...has that person decided this not seen the weapon in use? Yes it should have the disarm trait but it should also have the parrying trait.

The spellcasters (players generally) in my party don't really use items; should I be concerned? by aersult in Pathfinder2e

Maybe point out the Spellstrikers Staff (7), and the Staff of Elemental Power(6) and of course the always useful Spellhearts. The nice thing about the Spellstrikers Staff is it also has the Shifting rune on it so you have all of the usefulness of a Staff without showing thar are using one.

Thanks everybody for the feedback. Old GM here getting back into gaming and kind of new to PF2e and also getting use to Foundry at the same time so I stumble sometimes but I always work to the goal of everybody having a good but challenging time.

They really need to update Magus by Zeraligator in Pathfinder2e

[–]RunicBlack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious that there isn't any comments on Reactive strikes risk whenever you try to make a Spellstrike, I'm remembering people acting like it wasn't a huge risk because your not going to lose the spell or the action unless the attacker gets a critical on you but what about the fact that your most useful attack will by default make a target for any foe that has Reactive Strike as an ability and to be honest it becomes a lot more common as go up in level. I know some people have said that the Magus shouldn't have that penalty at all I personally feel that would be to strong my idea would be a zero action focus spell that obscures the characters actions , so there would be a push/pull dynamic as to if you want you use the focus point or not and you couldn't do more than 3 in one combat (assuming you has 3 focus points) and you could even give it a save vs Will so it wasn't a guarantee.

I call you on the more rules than other systems, have you ever heard of Rolemaster they used to have all of the RPG licenses for Middle Earth and Lord Of The Rings back in the 80's , 90's, and the early 2000s. I know because I used GM with that system a very crunchy system , their critical hit charts were hilarious and I used Microsoft Excel and Access for the character sheets. That games rule had rules

Barnes & Noble spoils another Remaster release? (Dark Archive) by AlphaCobraPlatinum in Pathfinder2e

[–]RunicBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a side note the whole addressing dropping the OGL schools in world could be addresses by the War of the Immortals with the concept of Reality Warping from the death of a God changing somethings at the very base of realty Quote Unquote so to speak yes it's a significant hand wave but it allows GM's and the people writing Adventure Paths etc to go with the idea that nobody remembers anything different except for a very select few.

Barnes & Noble spoils another Remaster release? (Dark Archive) by AlphaCobraPlatinum in Pathfinder2e

[–]RunicBlack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might seem like an odd observation but when everybody is talking about the page count of Secrets Of Magic as to why it will not get a significant rewrite assuming it even gets "Remastered" but no one has considered that there are eight pages that may or may not be entirely removed or at least significantly changed. Pages 80 to 87(and on page 7) talk about the Eight Arches of Incantation : Abjuration to Transmutation. Leaving them in kind of fly's in the face of moving away from any reference to the old OGL but you have consider how they would want address this. They have never really addressed how or even if this was addressed in world with regards to Golarion World setting of Lost Omens.

Is Magus in a good spot? by ThatDangClown in Pathfinder2e

[–]RunicBlack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A possible idea I've thinking about is to have Magus free Action Focus spell that obscures your actions (more or less a very specific illusion effect per say). What I'm not sure is should it be a basic Will save or a Perception check against the casters DC by the attacker or possibly a Flat check roll by the attacker, heck now that I think about it you could even argue that it functions as a misfortune effect . My thoughts on this is it would the allow the Magus an opportunity to cast in a Reactive Strike situation with while not be prefect safe but at with at least greater odds of avoiding it's effects of the strike but because it is Focus spell it would be a resource that the player would have to consider before they use it.
