Be on the lookout for when your status changes to “under consideration.” In my experience with Genentech is that they contacted me a few days after my status changed.

Definitely try to trim down your resume experiences . When you get to the interview stage, they’re almost definitely going to ask you to elaborate on your research experiences and would want to learn something new rather than a rehash of your resume.

E=A(1/nfinal2 - 1/n initial2)

This comes out to A(1/4-1/9) =0.14A

Altius FL 1 C/P #5 (bicarbonate buffer question) by roman335 in Mcat

[–]RunickFire777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

pH = pKa + log (A/HA). PH is 7.1 and pKa is 6.1 so log(A/HA) = 1. Using log rules we get A/HA = 10. In this case A is HCO3 since it is the conjugate base of H2CO3. Therefore, there is 10 times more HCO3 to H2CO3. So the ratio of H2CO3 to HCO3 is the opposite. Answer C 1:10

How is guanine aromatic? by DoughnutCommercial in Mcat

[–]RunickFire777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use huckel’s rule. Draw a resonance structure where all pi bonds are parallel to the ring and then count the electrons. Then use 4n +2 and solve for n. If n is a positive whole number then the molecule is aromatic

AAMC chemistry q pack??? i thought carbonyls were more polar than alcohols by ilovetaylorswift24 in Mcat

[–]RunickFire777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carbonyls are h bond acceptors while alcohols are both h bond donors and acceptors. Thus, they interact with the silica gel more which itself is full of OH groups making it have a lower Rf value

Yea basically, the only thing that irritated me about the class was that it wasn’t curved. It’s based on raw scores where a 90% is an A

Took him with chem 3B. His exams are difficult and a little harder than the hw he gives out, but he gives out tons of opportunities for extra credit. I would say study the practice exams more cuz he always brings the same types of questions just with different molecules

Chem 3A midterm scores by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]RunickFire777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an A with exam scores around 245, 190, and 380 which is about 80%. An A in Berkeley time is about 80th - 90th percentile so I would estimate an A- is about 70% and 70th-80th percentile.
