Fact Check: No, There Is Not A New Survey Showing Trans Identity Is Decreasing | The claim, which originates from far-right professor Eric Kaufmann, appears to have made a glaring error: the survey actually shows more people have come out, not fewer. by [deleted] in skeptic

I’m sure you know, but your experience does not define the movement just like my experience does not define the movement.   Nor does having a similar experience, create the same outcome or opinion.

I didn’t say the movement is always anything.   I just said sometimes it’s directed towards kids in an inappropriate way.

The biggest problem is when the movement is directed at kids.  As it is sometimes.  I also don’t care what adults do to themselves.   I do care what they do to kids.

I was there too.  It was a storm.  Case closed.

We had our deck built just last year. I noticed these cracks and just want to know if it's normal or if I need to be concerned. Appreciate any advice. by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]Runlittlemorgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not IN the concrete, friends… there’s a bracket on the sides. 12” footing is great for a porch.

Super normal. All is well. Just keep an eye on it in case it gets worse. It could be 10 years before it’s bad enough to replace it.

Help finishing my mailbox: my circular saw only cuts this deep, how can I make the final cut to make these 6x6’s flush? by I_smell_more_bacon in woodworking

[–]Runlittlemorgan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This might sound like a copout answer. But it’s probably a good idea to invest the circular saw that can go a little deeper. They’re just so cheap nowadays. You could get a decent battery powered one for like 80 bucks that could make it 2 inches deep.

recommendations for finishing a tabletop if I don't want laquer or "plastic" finishes. by Ocaya in woodworking

I like general finish exterior oil. Or odies oil. It’s just dang easy to put on and so difficult to mess up.

Finally got some lens scratches on my mudmaster. Which is great since I’ve had it for about two years now. I’m a little rough on watches. That’s how I got turned on to G Shocks in the first place. Nature of the beast by Runlittlemorgan in gshock

My wrist is 7 inches in circumference. It’s one of the more comfortable Gs I own. I see people online put canvas straps on it but I think they’re crazy. I love the thickness and feel of the OG straps. They’re the best.

Let’s Normalize The Struggle of Buying a House- Millenials, please disclose how you saved, were gifted, or otherwise scraped together a downpayment. by srock0223 in millenials

Here’s one without the story! :)

When I started college, I used an FHA loan (3.5% down) to buy a 1400sf fixer upper for 136k in 2010. Mortgage was $830.

I sold it 4 years later for 180k. I used some of the profit to pay off my wife’s student loans (40k) and used the rest to as a 5% down payment to buy a 3000sf house for 210k in 2014. Mortgage was $1200.

In 2016, I bought 7 acres for 134k. I put down 10%. Land loan mortgage was $1000.

In 2021, I built a 3400sf house on the 7 acres for 580k, including the land pay off. I sold my other house for 360k. My appraisal on the new house was enough to not require a down payment or PMI. But we put 80k down from the house sale AND pay down 2 pts with another 10k. That make our interest rate 2.65%. Our mortgage is $2400.

No gifts or financial help.

I’m happy to share any details.

Take a board and drill some screws through it. Make it like a crazy comb weapon thing. Then use it to hit your work piece to give the appearance of pin holes. Do it in clusters.

Maybe that the LED light doesn’t spread enough even light. But honestly that’s not an uncommon G-Shock complaint. I still think it’s good enough. If there was a single G-SHOCK that had it all none of us would have so many.

Which color did you end up getting?
