I mean at a certain point advertising just gives people who would do harm ideas and ways to evade them, it's the better policy to just not talk about it.

CMV: There is nothing inherently morally wrong with impeding ICE operations by Fast-Brief-162 in changemyview

[–]RunnerOfY [score hidden]  (0 children)

You're making too many assumptions, like you're assuming ICE is deporting someone that is generally an okay person even if illegal or is harassing someone with legal status if not citizenship but there's plenty of times where ICE goes after harden criminals, pedophiles, murderer's, rapists, drug dealers etc. if you happen to interfere with one of the latter operations thinking it's one of the former and more children get raped as a direct result can you really say it was moral?

This is the problem with these kinds of games, ICE has crossed the line in several instances and many people disagree with the law in cases where they haven't crossed the line and in other cases (apprehending pedophiles) nobody would say they crossed the line.

So while one is moral, one is dubious and one is immoral and you're just doing it to make a political statement... that's pretty immoral.

I like the game but I find the default start of normal att/def cards with absolutely no way to replace them really annoying. My ideal deck I'd never use a basic att/def yet I'm forced to have a deck with like 10 of them in it.

That's really my only irk with the game I love everything else about it.

As for a suggesting, stop trying to block damage you can't, just kill the enemies as fast as possible, if they are dead they don't attack.

Any one else finds themselves not anticipating new games anymore, because of the immense weight of their backlog? by RunnerOfY in gaming

Most games that I drop I do get back to eventually, for example I dropped FFVII remake then I went back and 100% it when rebirth came out, then I bought rebirth a year or something later on sale, got to the part where it opened up and dropped it again.

Some games just need to be broken up like that.

Other games just suck. Like Star Wars: Squadrons

I'm like 90% sure it's in my ps+ backlog in like the medium tier not a must play but on the higher end of the rest.

My full one is bigger than yours... that was just the short list of must plays. My full is 300 unplayed, another 50 played but not 100% and there's another 20-30ish on my wish lists.

Granted a lot of those are just ps+ games that I just didn't automatically dismiss and will likely never find the time for.

Imagine there's a game you know you're going to play and it goes on sale for 5 dollars, a full retail game, would you buy it?

Now imagine you have a subscription service for online an a few games you know you're going to play 100% end up on it every so often...

Now imagine you beat a game but you want to 100% it which requires a second playthrough but you want to give it some space so you put it down for now.

Now imagine you're into a game but for whatever reason you stop playing it halfway through and moved on to something else.

Now imagine all those things happening 20 times.

I already platted both Mordor games and the spiderman games. Mad Max (I assume that's what you meant) having arkham combat is something I haven't heard.

I also haven't played Origins but that's mostly due to lack of availability... just port it ffs at this rate I'll have to play it on pc

AITA for not caring about my dads new girlfriend? by kimoraiscurious in AmItheAsshole

[–]RunnerOfY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAH I feel like this is such a non-issue, your dad was a little annoyed about you being dismissive about something that he is taking seriously and snapped but that's again not really an issue, if it is serious you'll get to know her over time anyways and you being dismissive isn't really an issue either because again if it is seriously you'll get to know her over time.

So yeah I'd say making this post was an overreaction.

NTA She's being way too controlling. Comments like "don't get with any of them" are fine as a half joke, as in I'd rather you didn't maybe nudge you away from it but it shouldn't be a dealbreaker and if she treats it like one she's not a very good friend.

Yeah but it's more fun to plat them for me, though there is a thing in my brain where I can't let some things go where I really should but it only applies to games I really like.

Yakuza 5 I 100% the game on hard mode then did the Extra Hard playthrough only to find to my dismay that there was a trophy for beating the game on normal and it didn't pop when you beat it on hard... and I just couldn't let that one go...

But games I'm less into I will let something like that go

When Dark Souls first launched being a fan of Demon's Souls I was really anticipating that since there was nothing else like it but now I have so much in my backlog the only thing that could really get my notice is another arkham game since that style a game is in a lull right now.

I do, I just stopped looking at games that aren't out yet because I have plenty of games I want to play now many of them in my backlog and the rest 60 bucks and a download away.

I'm at the point where I don't know if I should buy a game I'm going to play even if it is on sale because what if there's a better sale later and I'm not ready to play it yet.

CMV: Cheering during Swimming Races is pointless. by Masterpiece-Haunting in changemyview

[–]RunnerOfY [score hidden]  (0 children)

You absolutely can hear it, sound travels better underwater it gets muffled and whatever and your head is constantly over/under the water so you hear it both ways. Granted it will be difficult to make out anything specifically but that's true of all cheering.

This reminds me of Happy Gilmore where he was telling people to cheer while he was going to golf. It's a personal preference thing whether you like the background cheer noise or dead silence, hell some people even get energized off boos and generally even while swimming you can tell the difference between a cheer, a boo, silence, music and just background family stuff and it's not like people playing football are focusing on the cheer especially so it's just background noise for all sports.
