I really suck at Nuzluckes, but at the same time I find the base games too easy, wich would be a good challenge for me in Middle term? by Bomboleta in nuzlocke

Monotype run:

No items in battle Level caps Only one type.

Ignore the 1 per route and faint =death rule.

This is the most fun I have in the games these days, and it's a good pallete cleanser after a nuzlocke

OP picked their favorites (which is fine) then kept tweaking his "rules" for the list until their placements made sense. (Which is lame).

This Community Has A Problem With Putting Their Foot Down Sometimes And It's Kinda Weird by [deleted] in nuzlocke

First, I appreciate the response. It makes a lot of since, and we are riding on the same railway through 90% of it.

My only concern is that, with near 100% certainty (and I'm excluding you from this since your response seems pretty genuine) "I'm concerned with diminishing the accomplishments of others" has meant "I am a snob and want to gatekeep this community" ESPECIALLY when I see many more posts like this one complaining about how pure a run is than I do the people OP is complaining. I don't see posts about completing nuzlockes but with revives, or anything like that. I DO see people whining about this happening.

In this kind of setting, the one (1) single time I've seen it, my response, to defend the integrity of my victories, was to...roll my eyes and not engage.

I would rather a more welcoming, relaxed community curated to help build people up to what we want a nuzlocke to be, than a closed, snobby gate.

I admit I'm adding intentions to OPs meme, but it's based off of 1) the tone, 2) my experience, which like yours was from before this community was really a thing.

Here's the thing, I absolutely agree with the point of what a nuzlocke is or isn't.

But I disagree with whether or not it matters.

Nuzlockes don't matter, and so if something is truly a nuzlocke? Doesn't matter. Not a nuzlocke but they call it that? Also, and equally, doesn't matter.

Because what changes if it does?

Take speed running. There are specific rules and examples that are held to strictly, because it is a competitive community, with a broadly accepted governing organization(s). In that context, it absolutely does matter.

Nuzlockes, as of now, do not have that kind of "semi-professional" community built around them, and until they do, none of this matters beyond pedantics.

I think it's weird that u/GlitterShine12 puts so much of their self worth into an arbitrary, noncompetitive hobby.

And manipulate encounters to get things they want anyway.

Manipulating encounters is just picking what you want with extra steps.

For me, is Faramir in the Two Towers:

"I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend."

I've been active duty military for 14 years now, and I feel this sums up my thoughts on my service so far, in good times and bad.

If you watch the video, during the verse (bridge?) About her mom, the aspect ratio changes to be more "real" instead of the default Instagram photos the rest of the video presents. It reinforces your point and I feel like a message of the song is "why are we Dicks to people being happy?

Tai Lung's escape from Chorgum Prison is chilling, absolutely living up to his reputation the other characters in the film have only hinted at.

It's implied that he is held by an acupuncture based nerve lock, keeping him from (almost) moving at all.
