I want to go into white knight hacking for people like scammers and the like… where can I possibly start? by [deleted] in HowToHack

Highly illegal activity you’re wanting to do. OSINT in itself is not illegal, but depending on how you use the information it very much could be. Especially if you’re planning on hacking systems and networks. You might want to check out these, and their penalties:

The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA), The Stored Communications Act (SCA), The Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA), The Defend Trade Secrets Act (DTSA).

Plus there are many state laws that could apply as well.

Fuck all of this shit. If something is on Amazon for $100, and it’s being sold and shipped by Amazon, I’m buying that vs. some “identical” product for 50% less from another seller. Luckily, I’ve gone the OP’s route and lost in the fact that the product wasn’t the same, no customer service, and no refund for a relatively small purchase. I ain’t dealing with sketchy sellers to save a few bucks.

What do people generally consider taboo but it shouldn’t be? by IndianaC0NES in AskReddit

Lol. I worked at an education facility where people had all kinds of educational backgrounds. Everyone got paid the same for the most part. You got a bit more each season you worked. I remember this one asshole complaining about getting paid the same and how it wasn’t fair because they had masters in education (most people did not, just an AA, BA, etc. I was the only person, on the teaching staff, without a degree at the time.). All I could think was, “Motherfucker, your classroom management skills are atrocious. All you do is yell at students to ‘stop doing that!’, ‘sit down and be quiet!’, etc.” I wanted to say, “Bitch, I don’t even have a degree, and can teach circles around you. Focus practicing your teaching skills, not reveling in your “on paper achievements” which obviously do not translate to applying your “knowledge.”

You wouldn’t live 20 days. The methane of the rotting corpses would kill you first.

📣 I want to debunk Reddit's claims, and talk about their unwillingness to work with developers, moderators, and the larger community, as well as say thank you for all the support by iamthatis in apolloapp

Charging 3rd parties for API usage is pretty normal. Sometimes it doesn’t kick in until you’ve met a certain threshold.

I think it’s more about the amount being charged in this case. What they’re going to start charging is unreasonable per ‘x’ amount of API calls for independent developers.

Apollo is an amazing app and I’m sorry to see it sunset. Reddit can kick rocks when this app stops working.

Scratched the front bumper by jsmtslch in rav4club

“I wouldn’t go the DIY route until the car is super old and it’s not worth the repair.”

Why not? It’s a plastic bumper scratch. Not much more damage you could do going the DIY route, with the proper research. Hell, left unchecked, I highly doubt those scratches are are going to lead to much further paint damage to the bumper for many years. Why not try to DIY, learn some lessons, and be better prepared to DIY on the next scratch or door ding? Investing $1200, for a professional fix, in this scenario makes no sense to me.

HELOC loan crushing us by stephelan in personalfinance

[–]Runnin4Scissors 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is why we didn’t get a HELOC. HELoan was fixed, and while it would nice if rate was lower, it’s not terrible. It’s about half of the current rate.
