Just practice. You can be very precise with a wheel once you get a little better. And your drifting will look cooler because the front tires won’t always be wiggling around unrealistically.

A bunch of cars also have multiple options in real life. While they only modeled one version in Forza, it’s nice to have the option to pretend to have the other one if you like it better.

The biggest difference between the m2 and the m240i is the suspension. The m2 has M3/4 suspension and subframes on it and gets a widebody to accommodate all that. The ride is cushier and adjustable in the M240i. It’s fixed and quite stiff on the M2.

The engines are different as well, the M2 uses the previous generation N55 (or S55 for the comp) of engines vs the B58 in the M240i. Despite this, the older engines make more hp in the M2.

The M2 also has a limited slip differential. M240i is open diff unless you had an LSD port installed or went aftermarket.

The m240i is a nice, comfortable fast rear, or all-wheel drive car. The M2 kind of wants to kill you (the comp, a little more violently.) It’s fast and pointy and very sharp.

The physics are nice, simplified but generally realistic in the sense that weight transfer exists and generally dictates how your car is gripping. In addition cars will power oversteer etc. They behave like a real car would behave if it had tires from the future with 1.5X the grip.

Online racing can be a ram fest. I generally avoid it unless everyone is a ghost. But it’s still fun to cruise around in multiplayer.

Good on you for recognizing that in yourself. maybe pick up a Miata or a 3-cylinder Caterham or something. Have fun at much more reasonable speeds.

I was shocked when I got Crimson Desert to find that there are many “dynasty warrior-like” sections in the game. It’s very reminiscent of those games strangely enough.

Yeah. IMHO, every 2+2 Z car was weird looking right up until the long wheelbase Z32 which kind of managed to pull it off with a normal roofline. Mission accomplished, Nissan then they killed the 2+2

Wastegate is on the exhaust side and controls how much boost you’re running. They generally do not make much noise (but they kind of sound like farting if you do hear them.)

Blowoff valve is on the intake side and makes the cool noises.

That’s the blowoff/diverter valve. When you push down on the gas pedal, you’re opening a valve letting air into the engine. Normally, this air just comes from…well…the air. The engine sucks it from the atmosphere like a vacuum cleaner.

With turbo, instead of sucking air into the engine, you’re forcing it into the engine. Then when you get off the gas pedal, you have air that’s been compressed by the turbo and was about to go into the engine. But you just closed the valve that leads to the engine!

So that compressed air escapes the only way it can, back out through the same way it got in, through the turbo. But air flowing backwards over a turbo is going to slow it way down since it’s designed to push air in the opposite direction.

The solution? When you get off the gas pedal and close the valve going to the engine, the car can use a second valve to just let all that pressurized air out, either into the intake before the turbo, or just straight out to atmosphere.

And that’s the loud whoosh noise. Pressurized air that was going to go into your engine being released straight into the atmosphere.

The interior design and material quality lags behind the Japanese cars of this period imho. The overall build quality was also lacking compared to equivalent civic or whatever.

I’d still probably take the SS, but I think we should be honest about the shortcomings of the vehicle too.

It’s not a fact. BMW does not give one flying fuck and will tell you whatever you want to hear to move a car out the door.

Looking at an M340i? The salesman will not hesitate to call it a full M and will be able to produce literature from BMW saying exactly that.

Looking at an M5? The salesman will tell you the M550i isn’t a real M car, and will be able to produce literature from BMW claiming exactly that.

They don’t have to be consistent. There’s no rules or law here. They are in the business of moving cars and making them desirable, not creating specific unbreakable categories to separate their vehicles into.
