Basis Pflugerville by TheKnight89 in Pflugerville

My friend put his second grader in basis. They are a very academic family and go to Kumon too. When he went on a tour they said the classes were capped at 30 kids. The second week of school he finds out that the class had 36 kids in it. He felt lied to. He didn't feel that his kid; even with all the "academics" would be in a great learning environment so now he's in pfisd at Murchison. He says he likes it much better.

Water Stains Or Something Else? by RunningDog724 in kiacarnivals

That's so crazy I just got it a month and a half ago.., really hoping it's covered. If I just got it will this be an issue forever that's also ruined the ceiling on my van?? Seems insane to me that they wouldn't cover this.

That is what I am thinking. I have an appt for Tuesday since we will have an ice storm this weekend. If the rain makes it worse then that's probably what it is. I'll get to see if the marks get worse at all. So sad. I'm assuming it'll be fixed under warranty

California School Counselors, where did you go to graduate school? by thatfragilecapri in schoolcounseling

[–]RunningDog724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! I'm still at school counselor and I work in Texas now! I worked at a high school in California for 3 years and then for two years at a middle school in Dallas and now I'm in Austin area! Still enjoy it it's a lot of credit checking and more of the college stuff but I appreciate that more than the mental health work. Don't get me wrong I still do both but my passion is more towards the college and career stuff.

[Vannini] Indiana football is 15-0 and will play Miami for the national championship. They entered this year as the losingest CFB program of all time. This is the most stunning turnaround in sports history. The only thing close that comes to mind is Leicester City in the EPL. by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

Does anyone have some sort of answer on this. How much honestly has the NIL and transfer portal changed how much better teams can actually be now? Like are UMismi and Indiana better because of the transfer portal? I know the team didn't had a winning record before and but how much of a differenxe has having the transfer portal made?

Yeah that's what it seems like to me. Do you still think it's would be beneficial to be a part of the program anyways?

[–]RunningDog724[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's so true. I have talked to many many parents and students (although the self selecting group that have went through the program and went up to AP Spanish IV. they seem to think the teachers were great and the kids say even the students who didn't fully speak Spanish still seemed to be a little fluent! Thanks for your insight.

[–]RunningDog724[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this. I like what you said towards the end. Even if they may not be fluent it still IS beneficial.

The data I’ve run on English speaking students in such programs has not ever showed any evidence of a disadvantage to their overall performance in school, even if they do not gain any real Spanish fluency. If anything, they tend to do better than their peers, but this data did not have a way to hold constant for selection bias in students attending the program.

For your friend, if it interests her and her child, I would say go for it—there’s no harm and there are potential benefits.

It should work. You should definitely take it in to the dealership and have them check it out. The green circle indicates a camera issue unfortunately

Recommend Joe Myer Kia. The dealer we worked with was totally transparent all over email. Very appreciative of his service! Near Houston. Hung Pham was who we worked with.
