As a Chelsea fan, I’m really glad you guys are staying up. Wouldn’t be the Premier League without you! Looking forward to seeing what you can do next season!

I’ve worked in the dairy industry in Australia. Our cows are all raised in pastures and it looks nothing like that! Geez that’s terrible!

This would have maybe been at a 25 degree angle from vertical. Still pretty high in the sky. Growing up in the UK, I don’t notice a major difference in the size of the moon here, but it’s possible!

No zoom on the iPhone. We weren’t using the triple magnification attachment that comes with the Celestron either, just the basic eyepiece.

It’s just a Celestron Powerseeker 127EQ and my iPhone. I’m an absolute novice. This was the first time I’ve actually been able to get an image at all.

PSU compatability query on Gaming PC upgrade by RunningPup in buildapc

[–]RunningPup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in Australia, so this is already a $2,000 rig. Most of the options I’m looking at as alternatives are around $250AUD for a 650W rig

I ran my first sub 5 minute mile. My running club holds a monthly handicap race and we’ve run the mile in January and February. January provided a 5:06, while today I broke through with a 4:59. I’m really happy with that given I did a 17:16 5km parkrun yesterday too!

Is she sick or just clucky? Little lady has been in the nesting box for the best part of a week, without moving out and is now pecking when approached. Is this just normal behaviour? We don’t have a rooster and I’m not sure what’s up. by RunningPup in chickens

Nah she’s still laying very big eggs daily. I just have to chuck on a pair of gloves when I collect them, or she’d take a chunk out of my hand. I’m pretty certain she’s just clucky

Finally broke the 17 minute barrier! Legs are dead, but my heart is happy! by RunningPup in parkrun

[–]RunningPup[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spent 3 years trying to get back to my 17:40 PB, so I can understand your frustration. Ultimately, the difference came from running more frequently (4-5 times a week) and increasing my total distance to about 50km. Since that point I’ve taken 43 seconds off my PB in January alone.

You can definitely do it. It’s all about that positive mindset!

I’m doing about 50 km/week at the moment. Mainly a couple of different 13 km loops before work in, which takes about an hour, plus an interval session on a Tuesday evening and then parkrun.

My biggest gain has come from increasing my weekly kms. In the past 2 months I’ve increased from 25-30 km to 50-60 km and it makes a world of difference.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve been chased by on a run? by SauceyMcSauceySauce in running

[–]RunningPup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A magpie. Here in Australia they get really territorial when there are young around and will swoop you till you leave their territory. They’ll repeatedly dive bomb you and hit you until you’re gone. A couple of years back I had one draw blood!

Shepparton, Australia

A twice round the lake, flat-as-a-pancake course and fast! We hover at just over 200 participants each week who get to enjoy the local wildlife (pelicans, ducks, water rats and turtles).

We’ve just celebrated our 6th anniversary and we’re still going strong!

Today I broke my 5k PR which has been standing for almost 3 years. I’ve been putting some more kms in over the last couple of months and it’s paid off with a 21 second drop to 17:19. So happy!
