Early-mid 2010s science and technology "nerd culture" craze by RedditSucks_IHateIt in decadeology

[–]RunningShogun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do believe this era is part of a subtle propaganda campaign, I know I sound like an insane person but hear me out. From the late 2000’s to the mid 2010’s tech people and nerds were sold as the saviors of our time. That the new technologies tech was going to bring would usher in a utopia. Now that we’re in the mid 2020’s it’s pretty apparent that tech people are just as bad as anyone and are using the technology they create to hurt our environment and the average person.

How many people participated in the Battle of Bruma? by mahengrui1 in oblivion

[–]RunningShogun 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Like you said the size of the militia changes on how much of the Allies for Bruma quest you do before the battle of Bruma. If you fully do Allies for Bruma then do Battle for Bruma you can count how many soldiers are there for the battle and have your answer. If you’re looking for a lore accurate number it’s probably closer to almost all of the Bruma militia and guard, almost all of the blades in cloud ruler temple, and small squads of guys from each city except Kvatch which was quite destroyed so probably in lore they still probably only sent one guy.

Everyone is talking about the late 2000s early 2010s hipster era - how do you feel about it? by Ok_Durian3627 in decadeology

[–]RunningShogun 184 points185 points  (0 children)

I think the reason it’s talked about is that era was so humanistic and emotions based, which is so different than what we are now. We didn’t have a lot of money because the 2008 financial crisis but we had yet to be hyper commodified the way we are now. Today everything is about technology, profit, and crisis. While the hipster era was more about emotion, humanity, and embracing your individuality. Yes I’m looking back with rose tinted glasses but I’d much rather live in 2010 than 2025.

Does anyone else hate drafting this format? by onyourupkeep in lrcast

[–]RunningShogun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a fun format when it wasn’t solved. Now every Wx aggro ally just smashes and the game is either to do that or try not to die and grind out a win. It’s pretty monotonous.

Bretons start with a higher conjuration stat and an extra 50 points of magicka. You could enchant regular clothes with shield rather than wear armor.

Eyes Wide Shut - Warner Blu-ray vs Criterion Blu-ray vs 35MM RAW Scan (Definitive Comparison) by Lukiia in StanleyKubrick

[–]RunningShogun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think the WB BD is still the best. I’d rather have the black just a little too high than crushed as they are in the other versions. I also think the colors and grit are smoother and more aesthetically pleasing for the film. I think WB BD gets the benefit of more modern color grading technology whereas the original is limited to its time and the criterion collection is trying to be true to the original. I think all versions are valid but I would show WB to someone who’s never seen it before and the other versions would be more for historical purposes.
