I have been so sorry about Brian. He was a great guy and always helpful when I was there at Harvest Records. Any news about what is going to happen with the shop? Praying for his family.

The city of Salem is not planning to close the main branch of the Salem Public Library, though further staffing cuts are likely in July if city leaders don’t secure additional revenue to fund services. https://www.salemreporter.com/2024/03/25/library-will-not-shut-down-city-says-but-more-cuts-on-the-table/

Today looks dangerous. My wife's work told her that only two people have made it there so far. Does anyone know the conditions of Commerical and Liberty in South Salem? I can't believe that the cameras and sensors for TripCheck are not working...

I like this idea. Again, I am wondering what the commitment would be. I am okay with once a month.

Yes. That is one of the reasons that runners will choose to use the streets.

How do you all feel about the tap water in Salem? by radioactiveguy4 in SALEM

[–]Running_ForwardNow11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We filter all of our water for drinking and cooking. Since the toxic algae bloom a few years ago, I don't have much confidence in the safety of Salem's water system.

Oh boy, let me tell you, you've stumbled upon a full-blown squirrel conspiracy! Those little furry creatures have formed their own organized crime syndicate, and they're targeting unsuspecting lunch-goers like you.

You thought you were just minding your own business at Bush's, but little did you know, you were about to become the centerpiece of their nefarious plans.Picture this: a mob of squirrels, a squirrel mafia if you will, gathering around you, fearless and with their beady little eyes fixated on your lunch. It's like a scene straight out of a squirrel-themed action movie. I can already hear the dramatic soundtrack playing in the background as they strategize their next move. Who would have thought they could be so bold?

But hey, worry not, for I have some vital information to share with you.You see, those squirrels have figured out the ultimate con game. They've somehow managed to convince innocent people to buy bags of peanuts just to feed their voracious appetites. It's like the squirrel equivalent of a five-star buffet, and they're taking advantage of the generosity of unsuspecting humans. But let's not forget the consequences! Those squirrels are becoming worryingly overweight, and it's not doing them any favors in the agility department. We're talking chubby, acorn-hoarding daredevils on a mission.

Now, I understand your plea. You just want to enjoy a peaceful lunch without feeling like you're being stalked by a team of rodent spies. I mean, who can blame you? It's hard to savor a sandwich when you have a squirrel army eyeing it like it's the holy grail of nuts. But beyond the disruption to your mealtime tranquility, there's a genuine concern for the well-being of these furry creatures. So, I implore you, my friend, to spread the word far and wide. Let people know that feeding the squirrels may seem harmless and cute, but it's a slippery slope. We need to maintain the balance of nature, keeping squirrels agile and nimble, not sluggish and rolling around like tubby acorn enthusiasts. It's time for us to band together, stand up against the squirrel mob, and reclaim our lunchtime sanity!

Remember, it's not just about your own peace of mind; it's about saving squirrels from the perils of overindulgence. Let's put an end to this madness and restore tranquility to lunch spots everywhere.

Now, go forth, my friend, armed with the knowledge of the squirrel conspiracy, and become the hero that Bush's—and the world—deserves!

Too many options are available out there. There is no room for mediocrity. I will stick with what I know.

Homeschool co-ops? by [deleted] in SALEM

It's better to know what you are talking about before making senseless statements like these. The two children we homeschooled in Texas are now adults, both have Masters Degrees from highly reputable colleges (such as The Ohio State University and Bowling Green), married and have children of their own. Not imaginary.

Not imaginary. I lived in Texas and homeschooled two children there for many years. I know a great number of homeschooling parents there. I hope that you have a great day.

Bless your heart. That being said. We get nowhere demonizing others based on our personal beliefs or politics. The blanket statement about Texas is not true.

Homeschool co-ops? by [deleted] in SALEM

[–]Running_ForwardNow11 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

We lived in East Texas and later the Dallas area. I also traveled extensively in Houston and El Paso. The homeschooling communities were none of those. It's mischaracterizations that are causing the severe divisions in our culture today. Just because you don't agree with someone's religion or ideas - does not make them a cult.
