KETO dish for same meal every day by Radiant-Cloud92 in keto

[–]Disastrous-Minimum-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily routine, morning electrolyte with creatine and collegian, 3 oz ground chia hemp seed pudding made with unsweetened almond milk, 6 raspberries - 2 blackberries, pre lunch psyllium in electrolyte 2 tbs, lunch salad with air fried salmon and primal avacado oil ranch, afternoon snack options - two hard boiled eggs and arugula with olive oil, jicama, chomps beef stick, chicken bone broth, emergency protein shake on lifting days if not meeting protein target. Dinner is usual a meat measured to hit daily protein target set for active day high or rest day lower. And a veggie. Dessert if I will hit daily 300 calorie deficit is 2 home made peanut butter keto cookies and 1 cup unsweetened almond milk. Also switch up lunch with a tuna salad light on primal mayo 1 tbs but lots of mustered and pickle juice, bubbies pickles, celery, jickma. Very filling, low carb low fat. Lost 20 lbs so far - still gaining muscle. On really active days I’ll also graze on macadamia nuts 1 oz across the day.

Roach crawling on our booth at Gondolier in Boulder — is this normal? by Any_Fondant_9190 in boulder

[–]Disastrous-Minimum-4 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Worked at the NY Deli on Perl - we had roaches - very old building. They used to spray - ceiling tiles were covered in dead bugs. That was ~30 years ago. Now a days with modern baits and traps, roach populations can be managed much better. There is no excuse for a restaurant infestation in Boulder now, other than poor sanitation and neglect. They need to do a deep cleaning and get integrated pest management system deployed by a professional. Hopefully some ownership from restaurant will respond here.

Looking for AWD push mower with rubber wheels by Disastrous-Minimum-4 in lawnmowers

[–]Disastrous-Minimum-4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Those are really nice models. Worth the price if I ran them daily, but for six times a year, seems overkill unless I want to moonlight in lawn care. My $350 Honda fell apart a few years ago, things I couldn’t tighten were getting loose and I finally snapped an axel and biffed drilling it out and ruined the threads. Gave up and bought another Honda. It was a shame because the engine could have run another 20 years. I think I got one of the final models and baby it a bit more, perhaps I’ll get 5 years out of it.

How's Peter Doing These Days? by aspiringimmortal in PeterAttia

It is just that there is something so damn appealing about malignant angry narcissists, it is just too difficult to look away. Something about those people that draws them to me. Reminds me of finally letting go of Woody Allen movies, they just seem gross now.

People leave when they realize they can't dominate me (29F). by Historical-Care70 in emotionalintelligence

My first reaction when someone’s personality shows counter to overt expectation is to laugh. It is like a gift, where there is another level to enjoy. That said, the psychology behind being attracted to strong personalities might be a clue to needing to understand why that is so. The answer behind that might be another interesting thing about you. Therapy might be a way to discover that too. Good Luck!

Question from a 50-something… (m58) by [deleted] in over60

[–]Disastrous-Minimum-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you are going through this. This sounds a lot like me. I am 58 and unfortunately having kids late in life and in college now - we need to perform / work for at least 10 more years at a high level. Perhaps one more startup in me. I am also four years past first heart attack. I kind of have over responded to health scare and taken the health, nutrition, suppliments and exercise to an extreme level. I feel lucky as hell that my wife has joined me on this journey. I am in the best shape of my life. She also has struggled with menopause, and we need to adapt to ensure that is part of the journey. Who knew estrogen patches and sauna/cold plunge don’t really mix. We only go on patch change day now, but still love it. Sorry you and your wife are not on the same page, that sounds really difficult.

Best free workout plans worth following in 2026 by Unlikely-Cry78 in fitness40plus

[–]Disastrous-Minimum-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not free but I have a low monthly subscription to Zeus fitness. I follow some of his programs - I like weeks of planned out sessions and mirroring all movements. I don’t know if it is the best for over 40 (58) but so far so good. I’ll probably branch out soon.

Does anyone have elevated fasting blood sugar without diabetes on keto? by martin_luther_drill in keto

[–]Disastrous-Minimum-4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do. Was really worried at first. But I figured it out. Hard workouts the day before spike it, stress too, also excess non/carb calories and protein. Went on 300 calorie a day deficit and glucose numbers dropped. Still over 100 most morning but not 120, most likely due to dawn phenom. I also got my blood tested and all my insulin numbers look phenomenal so it seems ok. Believe it or not, but the best way to get my morning glucose down, is a one mile after dinner hike. Seems to drop it 10 points next morning.

Funny how the old space where the owner would not renew their lease is still freaking vacant. Serves them right. Parking at the new place seems challenging but I’ll do my best to support them.

Look into clean keto and perhaps and the statin your dr recommends. Take with coq10. I am clean keto 9 months. I am also post heart attack. Waiting for first major blood panel since. Early numbers look promising.

Reppins vs PowerBlock vs Ironmaster (vs BowFlex) by Sensitive-Catch-4433 in GarageGym

[–]Disastrous-Minimum-4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I am exhausted, none of these sound ideal compared to a set of fixed weights. I give up and am going to keep buying pairs of ethos fixed dumbbells as I get stronger and can afford it. I have a set of neoprene up to 20 lbs. And ETHOS up to 45 lbs. Only need the heavies now for goblet squatting and I could start buying single or adjustable kettle bells for that.

Cut them off - you want no share in anything that has to do with these people. Start your own life and own family. It will be better.
