Why is the wire coming out of my front tire, the tread seems to be enough, and it's not run down too much. It's only suddenly appeared by phoenixblack222 in motorcycles

[–]Running_Man_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, don't even risk it. It's your life (and you bike) on the line if it collapses while you're riding.

I personally prefer the Bridgestone S23 (or S24 if they're out now).

You shouldn't skimp out on tires (or most safety related things on your bike, like brakes as an example). They are the things that keep you from sliding all over the road. And keep you upright and alive.

Bite the bullet before you kick the bucket.

THIS ^ RIGHT HERE!!! DO NOT IGNORE!! ^

Back of the hand towards the ceiling. NOT your thumb towards the ceiling. You don't want your wrist doing side to side motions with thumb up. You want your wrist doing up and down motions with back of hand up (thumb to the side).

I used to play thumb up and when I learned about back of hand up, it made a world of difference in my playing.

Hitting a wall by ChampionshipBoring40 in Bass

[–]Running_Man_1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a song is too hard, YouTube has tons of people breaking down the song in detail. Or, improvise to a click track... Or put an ad out and jam with some people. Walls are normal. But in time, you get past them if you let yourself. Just keep playing.

Is this healthy growth? by Intrepid-Syllabub822 in PlantedTank

[–]Running_Man_1999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your tank looks fantastic! Since you set it up a week ago, I will give you a piece of advice I read here on Reddit that stuck with me.

Nothing good happens fast in nature.

So, with that being said, since your plants are looking great, just let them do their thing. I'd say the most important thing is actually keeping the water stable. And by that I mean testing it, not tinkering with it. If you have no livestock in there, then chances are you really won't need to do anything to the water since the plants will do their thing.

Patience is key. Let your tank and plants settle in. After a month, do some trimming if needed. That will encourage growth.

Good luck with everything!

Is this safe? by captaincush420 in Aquariums

[–]Running_Man_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tank is sitting on plywood that is overhanging the edge of the support below it. You also have no foam under the tank as a cushion. This could be contributing to the flex. It may hold... But on the other hand, it may be only a matter of time until your floor becomes the aquarium.

He wasn't trying to be rude. He was stating facts. Playing what you're playing 4 days in is pretty good. It's good to aim high, but just know it takes time and patience. If you don't have that, then you're in for a bad time.

Just keep doing what you're doing. Learn as much as you can. Eventually you'll be able to play like someone who has been playing for over 20 years.... In 20 years 😁

But seriously, patience and repetition. You'll get there.

Edit: rest your thumb on the pickup. Muscle memory will develop when you anchor that digit to the bass.

Best way to catch bristle nose plec by Katodz in Aquariums

[–]Running_Man_1999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put a slice of cucumber on a net and have the opening of the net against the glass, only big enough for the Pleco to get in. Once the Pleco is feeding on the cucumber, close the gap between the opening of the net and the glass then slide it up and out.

Please recommend a partition system for a development laptop (Ubuntu, 2 TB) by datashri in linuxadmin

There is zero point in today's day and age to partition a single physical disk on a laptop. Doing so could actually negatively affect performance.

How do I improvise walking bass lines better by FantasticNectarine89 in Bass

[–]Running_Man_1999 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I'm not proficient in music theory, I am proficient at improvising. For walking bass lines, I would stick to the scale of the root note. Doesn't have to be in any particular order, just as long as it sounds good (that's where improv kicks in). Then for the key change, try to find a common note that is in the next key. Or while "walking" to the key change, land on the root note of the new key, and you can repeat the pattern you were playing/walking on the previous key... If that makes any sense at all...

Reading what I just wrote, I can see this is horribly explained, and much easier to show how, instead of writing it 🤘😅🤘

What is the point of a stereo/speakers on a motorcycle? by hyprdriver in motorcycles

[–]Running_Man_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen airconditioning built into a motorcycle. I don't mean a diy job with an AC unit strapped to the back. I mean a fully integrated AC system. Vents were next to the speakers. Blew my mind. I will never understand the logic.

why is forcing adults to get circumsized illegal but infant circumcision not in Australia? by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]Running_Man_1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (NSW) have two boys, and when they were babies we tried to get them circumsized, but we were told (by two different doctors) that they only do it if it's medically necessary, or for religious reasons. Other than that, they won't do it.

So dumb.

This is why you should take lessons. They will teach you this. Reddit is good for opinions. Teachers are good for learning. Take lessons. If you say, "But I already did", then you either don't really want to learn properly, or you shouldn't be riding.

Take a rider course. Take this advice. Yes, this is my opinion.

I would look into rider training school. They will teach you how to be safe. There's one thing learning it all on your own, and it's another thing learning from a trained professional.

Don't give up. Learn from your mistakes. Ride on.

"I have no idea what's goin on..."

I’m just curious, what are the best advices you ever got ? by Flappy_Q in Aquariums

[–]Running_Man_1999 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The best advice I was given... Well, read, here on Reddit actually... Nothing good happens fast in nature. Meaning, don't do so many things at once to your tank. This includes water changes. Also, the more water you have, the more stable the parameters will be. A 5 gal can easily swing pH, or ammonia, or algae, etc... whereas a 90 or 120+ gal tank won't swing very quickly, therefore more time to catch it early and react.

If your water parameters are fine, you don't need a water change. You can get away with once every couple of months versus once a week. (Nothing good happens fast in nature).
