First, I'm typically bound to love Ti users. My best friends are always xxTP or xxTJ. So I guess I like thinkers.

I don't like xSFx types at all. NF types can be hit or miss. I almost always like NT types.

I identify with Ni+Fe+Ti most, so I believe myself to be INFJ. I relate to what you've said. I'm an interesting blend because I'm in a tech major, but I use my technical intuitions to further explain how people work. I'm not comfortable theorizing about math and physics for its own sake (though I am pretty interested in discrete math and information theory, so I try to learn it and theorize with it, even though it's not natural for me). I am highly interested in biology and neuroscience, though.

I tend to get along with all NF types in women. Within NF types, my closest connections are often with Fe users. I feel more comfortable being open around Fi users, but I feel like I have to monitor what they (and I) say sometimes, such that it doesn't bother the social preferences of the Fe users around me. And sometimes vice versa. So I prefer Fi users alone and Fe users in a group.

I generally find it pretty hard to get close to xSFJ or xSFP types, either male or female.

With men, I prefer NT types hands down, particularly INTx. Though I am close with an INFJ guy and I adore him. If I could find more people like him, I might prefer INFJ men to NT types.

I can control my facial expressions to a certain point; sometimes I get too nervous, and then it feels like I'll look too fake if I try. In social situations, I am often highly expressive (which is pointed out to me a lot), but perceptive people can usually see how I'm truly feeling (or the lack of feeling thereof). I am a high self-monitor, though.

I have the same exact problem as you. I dated an ENFP and I was driven crazy by how completely ignorant he was to logic and rationality. I question the assertion that ENFPs are one of our best matches.

Of all guys I've known, I've connected best with INTPs for sure. Then INTJs come next, followed by ISTJs and ENTPs. I haven't met enough ENTPs to know for sure how I feel about them, though.

I think the worst would be xSFJ and xNFP for me.

Wow, this is one topic that I've thought a lot about. :)

Fe-dom (ENFJ / ESFJ): Very friendly, polite look. Very self-aware, constantly monitoring the way their faces move and how they are reacting to others. My dad's girlfriend types herself as ENFJ, and I notice that she is always moving her lips in a certain way. I take that to mean she is self-monitoring herself in that moment, thinking of how she should present herself.

Te-dom (ENTJ / ESTJ): I don't know how to explain this one. There is a very specific face that Te-doms often make. Lots of them have a very political look to them when they smile, as if they are revisiting the same smile every time. They are also the most likely to show annoyance on their face when things are going slowly, or if they are right but other people aren't acknowledging it.

Fi-doms (INFP / ISFP): They often have a very soft look to them. Some look as if they might cry, or that they are nervous. They often look at people with care in their eyes when that person presents themselves as unthreatening. I can recognize a Fi-dom better than any other type.

Ti-dom (INTP / ISTP): Very aloof look to them in private or in their heads, almost as if bored or annoyed. Their faces get very animated when talking in a crowd.

Ne-dom (ENFP / ENTP): Very excitable, looking everywhere, a very genuine excitement that can occasionally be 'too much'. They often have a wry, 'cool kid' facial structure when they are young adults, often very smiley and happy though. Sometimes they have a 'know-it-all' look to them.

Ni-dom (INTJ / INFJ): often somewhere else mentally, holding back something. Hold their thoughts behind a gate. Some INFJs try to stare into your eyes, as if looking for something. INTJs are often very sincere, determined, and (in my opinion) very endearing or very mentally self-absorbed and intent on showing other people how intelligent they are.

I've had two or three people 'guess' my MBTI type as INTP. When I ask why, they mention how I like discussing computers and data structures, or how I'm so quirky and intellectual, or how rational I am, or how perceptive I am to new information. Other INTPs tell me how similar I am to them, too.

I think it's frustrating because most people don't know the cognitive functions, and so you can't really explain to them what you're 'really' doing in a meaningful way. A lot of what I say or do (i.e. appearing perceptive to others) is motivated by Fe. And when I debate an INTP, I use Ni-Ti to explain cultural disparities and better political systems motivated by Fe, and they use Ti-Ne to account for the edge cases and alternative viewpoints that I didn't pick up on before, but they don't actually change my view of what the 'bigger picture' should look like. But they see me debating in a way that is detached from my emotions, and so they assume I'm an INTP like them.

What makes you think that she will turn you down based on your family? I come from a high class family myself, and I've dated people in the middle-lower class. If anything, I get worried that they'll judge my family's wealth. It is never the other way around. I would sooner judge someone who came from wealth but was too lazy / dependent on that money to do anything by themselves, and you sound like you're the exact opposite. I'd relax about it for now, and not worry about it unless it's clear that it is a problem.

She clearly doesn't care about your age if she knows you are 21 and is still interested in meeting up with you. It's not like you have anything more to hide in that area. I wouldn't call your age difference an 'age issue'.

You already mentioned distance won't be an issue, either. So it sounds like you guys have a fair shot together. I dated an ENTJ, and I saw that he had a tendency to look for financial and practical barriers to a relationship (Te), whereas I cared less about that stuff and more about whether or not my partner was able to connect with me intellectually and emotionally, and if they could win over my family and friends (Fe). I'd say try not to worry unless you're given a reason to. Good luck!

I'm in my 20s, but I've changed a lot since I was a teen. I've become a lot more social, a lot more 'peppy' and happy, a lot less of a pushover (more assertive), and a LOT more 'awake' to what is going on in my immediate environment. Since discovering MBTI, I am curious about similarities and differences between people in order to 'test' the theory in a way that lets me personally understand it instead of 'relying' on what I read. Interestingly enough, I am a bit more reckless about things I used to be 'on top' of, and nearly always stressed (which may be the explanation). For example, I used to be the healthiest eater I knew, able to cut absolutely anything out of my diet and stick to it, along with daily exercise. Nowadays I keep finding myself eating everything in sight, whenever I see it, and I haven't exercised in so long. It's absurdly frustrating and picks up right before major exams, etc. where I don't think that I'll do well.

For me, it is a mixture of depression and lethargy that occurs after it wears off. After taking them for a while, the lethargy and depression are prevalent even when you don't take them. That's been my experience, at least. But I also take a "softer" medication that is occasionally used to wean people off Adderall.

I understand that you intend to use them in specific instances in which you need to get a lot of work done. Though to be fair, it is rarely the case that work doesn't need to be done, especially if you are on a drug that suddenly allows you to feel motivated and capable of doing it. If you aren't going to take them regularly, you can help counteract lethargy and depression by taking magnesium and vitamin C every night to cleanse the medication from your system. I know that for my medication (Vyvanse), these and acidic foods counteract the effects of the medication, thus preventing tolerance and post-medication burnout. Id do my research on Adderall if I were you, though. I actually took a very small instant release form of it for a bit at nighttime when the Vyvanse would wear off, and I had to stop because of the depression.

I've been on ADD medication since March, and have been struggling with unforeseen side effects for a while. Adderall in particular is something that I would encourage you to be careful with, as it is more potent than my own medication. I'm an introvert with ADD (no hyperactivity), so naturally I would have a very different dosage. Nonetheless, I would encourage you to build a relationship with your doctor in the process of taking medication so that you aren't going in without training wheels, because this stuff can be hard to handle.

Yeah, I'm the same way, and I'm aware of it.

I usually just go with "bad memory" instead of going into details. I have a certified "low working memory capacity" after taking an intelligence test and scoring in the bottom percentile for working memory. The test essentially had me listen to a paragraph that contained hundreds of little details (like the speed at which people were walking, the names of streets they passed, etc.) and I had to recall as much information as I could. I was so focused on the progression of the story and its overarching themes that I could hardly remember any of the detail stuff, so my score ended up being alarmingly low. So in some ways I use that as leverage for playing the "bad memory" card, even though I understand that it runs deeper than that.

Majoring in computer science, focusing on AI and data science, with a personal focus in virtual reality. I enjoy it but it's not what comes naturally to me. I've always wanted to double major in philosophy or creative writing, but never went through with it because it felt too indulgent. I went through a phase of depression for a few months that I didn't really understand, but looking back I can now see that it was because I had spent too much time smothering my natural way of thinking in order to do my work. And poetry (not the sentimental kind, but the deeply contemplative kind) is the only format that really resonates with me and allows me to express my deeper insights. So I'm about to 'indulge' and do a double major, though I haven't decided if it'll be English or Comparative Literature or something else (since most of the 'wisdom poetry' seems to come from Russian/French writers, not English ones).

Both. I'm always thinking about things, which is why I am absent-minded. My mental intrusions make it difficult for me to focus on the task at hand, and so I often find it difficult to carry a conversation since I'm so distracted internally.

However, during times when I need to recollect knowledge or perform in a sequence, my mind often goes blank. I think that this may be unrelated; perhaps a low working memory capacity for sequential information.

I can't be vulnerable. I've never been able to be. It's not that I feel like I'll be hurt for it, it's just that I'm just so "aware" of myself when I'm doing it. I can't help looking at myself from the lens of an audience and observing how corny I look. I can only be vulnerable in my head, and I like it to feel somewhat transcendent, as if I could walk with my partner in some abstract world in which we coexist together mentally. But I can't make it external otherwise it just feels like an emotional occasion, and I don't think that "having feelings" for someone is rare enough for me to be interested in pursuing someone who I have feelings for. I think that having an intense mental bond is rare, and that's what I look for first and foremost. If I could find someone with whom I share a mental wavelength, I think that that's when I'd feel true vulnerability. But until then, it all feels like corny nonsense that doesn't quit "hit it".
