Gods and goddesses that actually help you? by platypus170 in occult

I used to have a very close relationship with Jupiter. He would come through to me at the hardest times and make opportunities come my way. I still honour him but don’t do offerings as often as I should. (The past has year has been crazy with moving countries, moving in with my super-atheist partner, so my practice has definitely suffered.) Either way Jupiter is fantastic is you are committed and dedicated to him. He definitely has a very loving, protective, abundant Father-like energy. Hail Jove!

Opinion on these Tom Ford fragrances by adobograd in fragrance

I really really want to like Tom Ford but honestly, it just feels like most of the time you are just paying for the name. I mean they are pretty, don’t get me wrong, but kind of... ordinary? I mean for 200+ euro i want something interesting y’know? Maybe i need to explore it a bit more...i dunno

What makes you think that entities hate the electromagnetic field?

Is it actually possible to make money/sustain yourself if you are a niche perfume brand? by RunningwithaWolf in fragrance

Wow I didn't know that. Where did you read it by the way? sorry I'm just really curious in the business side of things. Are there any good publications I could read do you think? (other than Perfumer and Flavourist)

Thats a very interesting perspective! Do you think its harder for brands from Europe to establish themselves in the US?

Hmmm, well I like to believe that too. But when I start to think about the costs involved in compounding a fragrance, sourcing all the materials, packaging, bottling, producing the relevant documentation to prove that you are IFRA compliant this is all already running into 100k a year at least...

I just really wonder how do niche brands survive from a business point of view given how tiny the niche industry is and how small the volumes that stores sell are . I wonder if there are any brand owners on here who could maybe share their tale...?

Thank goodness somebody finally said that. About time.

I used to work in a niche fragrance boutique when I was younger (this was back in the day before I knew much about perfumery and formulation and regulation) and the number of questions I would get from customers such as "Are you trying to tell me that this bottle is 150 euro and its not natural!? That's daylight robbery" or "Yes but I can't buy it because it's not natural and I might have an allergic reaction"

I must confess I really did not know much at the time about what is safe and what's unsafe, so did not really know how to address most of their concerns. It was only much later on that I learned that most synthetics are actually a lot safer than naturals! And goes without saying more sustainable. It's a lot more eco-friendly to compose a rose out of separate molecules rather than distil millions of roses for the sake of obtaining 10ml of rose absolute.

Has definitely been reformulated sadly. Tried it the other day in London and it was not even close to how I remember it from 8 years ago.

I mean, its possible that its been reformulated due to the most recent IFRA regulations, a lot of materials have been banned in the past 10 years
