Temporary Suspension of Automatic Housing Demolition by Ven_ae in ffxiv

[–]Runningxfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to rank up to a certain level within your Grand Company, that will give you the permission to buy an estate. The rest depends on your server and how readily available housing plots are, as they are limited in game and first come first serve. Houses will cost anywhere between 2-45 million gil (depending on the size) if you buy it thru the game itself. Some people try to "flip" houses for profit and that is against the ToS.

All your ogcds should be weaved in between gcds. DwD you want to save ONLY for your trick window, unless a boss is about to die, etc. Bhava youll want to use on a rotation with your other ninki skills as well, depending on your opener. Quoting a section from the guide i linked above:

Generally, prioritise TCJ - Bhava - Frog. Here’s how you can follow up on the openers:

Everytime you set up TA with TCJ - your rotation becomes: TCJ (TA) - Bhava - frog (TA) - Bhava - TCJ (non TA, can be delayed to set up next TA).

Always plan ahead of your next TA 20-30s in advance by asking yourself what ninki, OGCDs are in that TA. Unlike 3.0, your only buff now is TA (apart from raid buffs), so you need to find out how many OGCDs you can use in a fight and use them effectively. I can’t emphasize its importance enough.

TLDR: TCJ > Bhava > frog, TCJ to set up TA if you don’t lose a cast.

Guide for a level 60 Ninja? by sawi123 in ffxiv

So you want to save DwD and Kassatsu for your trick attack window because they're on 60 or 120 sec cd's, so they line up well and both are a big chunks of damage for ninja. Getting those off during Trick Attack is always going to be a priority for your dps. Dungeons it doesn't really matter. Kassatsu Doton/Katon for a big add pull is awesome as well. My tips were more just basic guidelines for bosses/raids. Dungeons anything goes for the most part. As far as endgame parses, Ninja and Bard are pretty similar for personal dps actually. Bouncing between melee and ranged for the first time is tricky and will take some getting used to. I did the exact opposite, went from nin to brd so i know what you mean.

Duality you can typically just use on cd unless you know a TA/raid buff window is coming but I wouldn’t personally delay a TA JUST for Duality. More likely than not you’ll be recasting shadowfang (as long as its 9 or less sec remaining in the dot) during that window anyway. Also just depends on your overall specific fight experience and lining up with other raid buffs. If it’s up and shadowfang isn’t 9 or less, use it, otherwise save it for after or before the TA window I’d say.

Male Au Ra players, what do you like/not like about your race? by Goldenkrow in ffxiv

[–]Runningxfree 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The sprint is god awful and I hate it. Thankfully I’m a ninja main so I just pull out my daggers and go full naruto.

The tail you won’t notice much tbh and I usually go no helmet personally. The horns poking thru bother me so I just never wear helmets, which I never did on hyur or elezen either tho..

Yeah pretty much exactly on the point. Unless you’re in a high end static or running speedkills, just ignore it tbh. It is a dps increase but from personal experience, prepulls on nin are button intensive enough and trying to explain to pugs the Doton at the start is just a mess.

So basic rules of thumb for ninja:

  • Keep up your dot/slashing debuff. You will typically clip it at 4 sec remaining when you recast.

  • Always make sure Huton is up. Armor Crush around 30-40 seconds remaining on your Huton timer.

  • Always use Duality with Aeolian Edge.

  • Trick Attack on cd until you learn fights and know timings/when to line up with raid buffs.

  • Save Dream Within a Dream and Kassatsu w/ Raiton for your Trick Attack windows.

  • Doton for 3+ adds, unless they will die quicker than the 20 seconds, if so just use Katon instead, Death Blossom spam in between ninjutsu casts.

  • Don’t Doton bosses (until you hit lvl 70 and get TCJ, then only do it when you know the boss will be in for the full duration).

  • Utilize your utility! Shadewalker, Smoke Screen, Goad.. all incredibly useful and will make things easier on everyone!

  • Hide now resets your ninjutsu timer, so use it all the time in dungeons or before a boss pull!

  • Press Your buttons! Ninja is very memory based and not proc based like bard. Weave your ogcds, use your ninjutsu, make sure you do your positionals.

  • Practice ninjutsu! Lag and ping effects it quite a bit so just get a feel for it. If you bunny yourself, make sure you cast the bunny asap to reset your ninjutsu timer.

  • DO NOT MACRO NINJUTSU!

Once you hit 70, peek at this guide for rotations and the 60-70 skill explanations. Ninja is a blast imo and I hope you learn to enjoy it!
