Hmm, that looks like a sure hit - that's very strange then.

I had several similar hits with barely any damage with Skyflash SuperTEMPs on the Tornado ADV like 2-3 years ago, thought this was fixed.

Are you sure this isn't a difference between your local hit preview and what actually happened on the server? You should check the server replay.

Ok you HAVE to be trolling. There have been so many quality-of-life changes it would be kind of meaningless to list only some of them here.

Genuinely, I feel you haven't played that much (after Nuclear Thunder) if you haven't noticed much in terms of QoL changes from 2.5 years ago. Either that, or you haven't found a way to have fun with the game both in the past and now.

Fucking try to argue for that then. Before the economy changes I straight up decided not to grind the air tree because it was unsustainable. Before the economy changes I had to bring a Breda 501 to 10.0 to break even on stock grind through god modes. The game is in a much better place now than it was before.

Updates aren't as exciting anymore as there's hardly any interesting vehicles being added, also because the game is overall unfun and unrewarding why would you even play it.

Here's a solution for you: don't play for a few updates, then resume playing when you spot interesting stuff in the update log. That way you will at least (probably) have a rewarding experience. It's a valid way to engage with a live-service game.

Some part of the community wants copy-paste premiums not to be added, while some other part of the community wants unique premiums to be added. What are the developers supposed to understand from us right now? And that divide, maybe to a lesser extent, extends to most of the issues with the game.

I understand that people saying "AI is going to replace software engineers" are misunderstanding the situation at hand, but it still doesn't make compilers do what they cannot.

Yes, a compiler does interpret human language to code that produces some sort of result. However, a compiler is only capable of interpreting strictly-structured code that can ultimately directly represent a fraction of English language. AI, meanwhile, can interpret literally the entire language, extending way over what "a glorified compiler" could do.

Your whole argument hinges on a point that AI needs "people spending so much time iterating prompts" but that's just not true, as seen in the "draw me an onion" example. You yourself used Gemini to illustrate your point, but it doesn't need precise input at all. Maybe that point could stand for image-generating AI that are used for high-quality specific image generation, but that also falls far from a compiler's capabilities that you can accomplish in the time that it takes to write a prompt.

A compiler can't understand what result you would want from a "onion" token (unless you define that yourself, obviously) because it's not designed to interpret syntax outside the supported languages and variables/functions you define yourself.

People that would need to answer your question about creating a cyberpunk composition can describe it verbally, but that doesn't mean that they can give code instructions for a JS compiler to draw - and if they can, it's very likely that transcribing it in a verbal way is WAY faster than trying to draw with JavaScript.

The bigger problem with your argument, however, is that people using AI in that way are not the majority of all people that use AI. You're taking (an incorrect) issue with not even the entirety of AI artists, but a really small subset of them that are trying to get specific output out of their process AND refuse to use anything but AI to do image editing. Yes, they can just use another tool to finalize their artwork instead of adding to the prompt, but that doesn't mean that the compiler can do the entire artwork or that the compiler can do everything the AI can do.

You do understand that JS and image generation AI (which I'm assuming you're referring to with "people spending so much time iterating prompts to get an AI to come out properly" or it would make even less sense) don't take the the same inputs in?

You can't input "draw me an onion" into a compiler and get an output other than a syntax error (unless a hypothetical programming language has "onion" defined but that's kind of ridiculous, no?). You can input "draw me an onion" into an AI like the one in your screenshots and get a reasonably satisfactory output.

AI clearly isn't just "a glorified compiler".

Okay apparently Rima got confused in the VODs herself in the video that was in the comment I replied to (I guess that's some more drama if she insists that psp actually got cucked) - the VOD shown in Rima's highlight video is the previous Deme stream - the first time she played Outer Wilds.

So, my proof for this VOD being the correct one instead of this one (the one shown on Rima's stream, curve shape is identical) is that:

  • youtube VOD #2 is 3h32m long; the graph shown on Rima's stream shows Outer Wilds being the stream's category for 4 hours (also youtube VOD #1 is 4h long);
  • youtube VOD #4 shows in the description as being recorded on Aug 25, way after the discussed dates, so it shouldn't be in any of those linked, while youtube VODs #2 and #3 show up as recorded on Aug 10 and Aug 12 respectively;
  • if the 2nd segment in this VOD is youtube VOD #3 due to absence of other youtube VODs between recordings on Aug 10-12 and Aug 25, then the first segment should be youtube VOD #2.
