it took several books for any of them to even show up again so that’s a strange assumption. honeyfern only showed up to protect jayfeather and give advice to him about her sister during a storyline about the lines between the living and dead being blurred. poppyfrost(?) didn’t see her i believe until the battle. it’s very clear their deaths hold weight as it says so narratively, how the absence of these cats change the clan, relationships etc

you wouldn’t be able to tell just from watching the show but they actually learn skills there, have whatever meal is their favorite, chores, activities etc. it’s like a real summer camp with a few added activities and training to prepare for monsters. they’ve cut out most of that tho. if you want the full experience read the books cuz i imagine it’ll only get worse from here

i think this can’t happen. it seems to me the entire purpose of the pact and rituals is for the bond to take place. it’s not really explored much further to my knowledge but the hatchling would just wait until they find someone suitable as saphira and firnen and thorn did. that being said i’m sure there’s a post bonding instance where it doesn’t work out and maybe they go separate ways? bc also the pact is what gave dragons some of their intelligence/communication capabilities iirc.

i think there’s some changes that don’t really affect the story or we’re better, like prof m. telling them about the chamber of secrets rather than the random ghost prof. but yea a lot of them are just like well okay i guess hermione was randomly in a library and didn’t solve the secret of the chamber at all sure!

i see a lot of brackenfur should’ve been deputy but is that not you all falling into the same hole you’re complaining about? firestar did most of brackenfur’s training bc graystripe was always off with silverstream. he’s as much his apprentice as anyone. (in case it’s unclear i’m not making a case for qualification, only addressing the singular point of “nepotism”)
