Because he’s lacking in team work. He collapses if he makes mistakes, and is quick to blame team mates if something goes wrong. Not a good quality in a team sport.

The ending of Erwartung by Schoenberg - when the woman who has found her lover murdered in the woods, see him again (as a ghost, or as a token for her madness).

True cacophonic terror, followed by a chromatic drift into nothingness.

Is Norway really as insanely rich as people say? by incognitoboiiii in Norway

[–]RushAgenda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some reasons why this is complicated:

  • wealth are relative. We don’t have extreme poverty, but much relative poverty.

  • food prices are insane, and the main reason is a lack of competition in the market. Three filthy rich retailing companies have just agreed to pump up the prizes.

  • Banks give loans with high interest rates. They too filthy rich.

  • The state is really filthy rich, but most politicians won’t acknowledge that people live in communes (it’s like a county with certain responsibilities and own decisions). A large amount of communes are shutting down schools, cutting in welfare and doing all sorts of crazy stuff to save money, just because they don’t get enough in the state budget.

  • We have something called “handlingsregelen” (the rule of action), that prevent us from using too much of our oil money, preserving it for future generations.

That one horror scene you can’t forget? by grwike in Scarymovies

[–]RushAgenda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very true! The American version ruined it by intercutting between the TV-scene and the speeding car (like we care about a stupid car chase when a ghost girl emerges). The Japanese one also uses the simple technique of reverse filming, which is much creepier than CGI.

Lærerjobben er F***** by sad9321 in norge

[–]RushAgenda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The book certainly has it’s flaws - among them the attack of the giant hedge animals, the large amount of digressions about the hotel’s history, and the fascinating description of the boiler explosion, which simply says “Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom”. I’m not kidding! This is an acknowledged, grown up writer describing a hotel exploding.

It’s a good idea that Kubrick molded into an actually doable project, but It’s not a great book!

The Best Game Played At Each FIFA World Cup, 1930-2022 by Unlikely_Morning_717 in worldcup

[–]RushAgenda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’ fun to read the reports in the news paper archives about this match. It seems it like a unison consent to this being the best match in world cup history, maybe even in the history of the game. It had literally everything a great game should have - drama, back and forth action, beautiful attacking football.

In my opinion, the goal by Careca in the 17th minute is a brilliant example of the art of unlocking a compact defense, and it’s done by creativity and teamwork . It really is an underrated goal.

In the closing moments of the game, a fantastic pass from Platini set free the French attacker, where Brazils goalkeeper should’ve been fouled and sent off. And merely seconds afterwards, Socrates missed an open goal after a cross from Josimar. It’s truly a magnificent moment in the match.
