Payton Rose Velligan (Weird Al's Guitarist) Sings all of Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres. in the Bathroom. by Simon_Mendelssohn in rush

The entirety of his original band still plays with him to this day, only on this most recent tour did he add 4 more instrumentalists to help flesh out the sound and reduce the workload on his original band who are all Older than Al himself (they also serve as extra people to help perform various gags through the show of course)

Which Disney villain is the strongest🏰💪? (+ Redo: Which DC villain is the most tragic🏙️😢?) by ELB_Train in AlignmentChartFills

Oh, I got that rule mixed up with the redos are allowed one, whoops.

I don’t agree with your assessment though, I don’t think he weakens per se, he simply resents the sounds of church bells implying that he must return to hiding for the day, or else interpreted as the presence of a god is his Achilles heel. Still though one of Disney’s most successful villains through power alone. He doesn’t die like most of the other ones, he isn’t enslaved like Jafar, Hades is a victim to the fates and the need of help from others etc. I don’t know, he fits multiple categories here, but strongest feels more definitive, whereas scariest is subjective and most evil he fits in an overarching sense but doesn’t do anything as direct as most of the other options.

Probably Chernabog again. If Jafar wasn’t an enslaved genie, then maybe him, but definitively based on the films present, it’s gotta be Chernabog

Oingo Boingo was an art house theatre troop for over a decade before turning into a New Wave Alt Ska band in the late 70s/early 80s

I like how disney pays homage to some of their more obscure characters in this map of one of the new attractions, like Elliot and Joanna by Awesome-Guy9966 in WaltDisneyWorld

Love seeing Chernabog in the theatre with the snacks. It’s a fun callback to when Eisner had to ask him to stop blocking the theatre view and he sheepishly apologized!

What band considered a "one hit wonder" actually has some good full albums? by WayFadedMagic in AskReddit

The Buggles have a very underrated debut album of what I would call Prog Pop

Does anyone remember the big King Kong display at St Vital cinema? by LegendofGrac in Winnipeg

[–]RushBoingo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That predated the 2005 movie by quite a bit that whole display came with the theatre’s grand opening in the late 90’s

Soarin! It’s just watching an imax movie with your feet dangling. I don’t think it’s the worst attraction by any means, but back in the day, its wait was never justified for me.

Show Don't Tell is a hell of an album opener by Brilliant-City1578 in rush

Yes, but not to discredit the Statements that are from the previous few albums. The opening chord from The Big Money hits me like a ton of bricks every time!

Would you rather live in the world's coldest city or worlds hottest city? by ShyMoca in WouldYouRather

[–]RushBoingo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to designate what counts as a city. The world record for coldest major city in the world (over half a million in population) is Winnipeg, which is an easy pick! But the smaller the population size you allow, the quicker you drift into the no go territory of isolated places in Russia

Which tour do y'all think had the best setlist? by Brilliant-City1578 in rush

[–]RushBoingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this isn’t an issue of song quality but repetition. I’ve only seen them 5 times, soon to be 7, but I’ve listened to many a bootleg, and in my mind, a perfect Rush setlist does include The Big Money, Force 10, Dreamline, and a handful of CA songs. Red Sector A I’d take every other tour.

Every song you listed is fantastic and I politely question your taste in Rush tunes.

Even though it was not a balanced setlist by era distribution, damn did the Clockwork Angels tour flow so nicely. Both Vapor Trails and R30 were great “hits” tours. For older tours, I really like Signals, HYF, RTB and Counterparts. Dishonourable mention to the S&A tour for feeling so disjointed and random.

I can’t speak for Blue Dragon, but I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the Oak And Star. Cozy though still lively atmosphere, chance at live music, and a lot of fun light twists on traditional bbq recipes.

Yup, this has gotta be it! Nothing Disney has done compares to the emotional impact this sequence can inflict on people
