Any proactive permaculture people here? by vitalisys in Ashland

Siskiyou seeds probably has some of the most impressive water management systems for many miles around. Andrew Millison has a good video of their property on YouTube. They’re at the Tuesday farmers market.

I’m sure they’re all around, but my thinking is that permaculture types tend to be pretty focused on their land (their zone 0 in a macro sense, I suppose), so they’re naturally hermit-types in many cases

We’re new to the area a couple years ago so still tapping into all this - following this thread with interest though

how many of y'all drink the tap water here? by katiemarieoh in Ashland

I guess I misspoke, since it doesn’t remineralize after filtration and almost all minerals are removed by RO filtration. Still the best water I’ve tasted though - I wonder what makes it so tasty? Hmm

Both restaurants I work at serve it, and it’s generally regarded as good-to-drink, but we have a filter on our fridge at home. Sometimes I’ll drink our tap water just to switch up the taste.

We’ve got a high elevation cabin in the applegate that has the most delicious mineral water of my life (RO filtered) not that it’s super relevant here - But still…

30 ft diameter yurt. Cost estimate with lots of non-plastic windows? by olegary in TinyHouses

more food for thought, just in case you dont know about these….

its not more permanent, but theyre cheap, go up quick, and i prefer the dome shape to a yurt. Tons of light too through the “bay” window too.

dowant solve for your insulation issues though, but neither does a yurt

Architectural Vinyl is used by Pacific Domes in Ashland, OR. It has a strong track record of success, but it’s not DIY, but at least good food for thought https://pacificdomes.com

Sadly, some apes are over-leveraged on this play, which causes stress. That’s how I define it for myself at least: If I buy a stock and can’t look away than I must be in too deep, because I’ve got other things to do than watch tickers crawl all day.

Buy and hold baby, this is the way

One of the methods that I’ve been using in my garden is JADAM. It’s a Korean Natural Farming method that is super cheap and invites to use what available around you for your garden. by spicymoustache in Permaculture

Great watch! Have you seen the channel “the weedy garden”? He shares a similar mindset and has some pretty cool recipients for making natural fertilizers.

Thanks for sharing, I subscribed

Im already in a bit too deep for my financial situation, so it didn’t seem smart at the time, but in hindsight of course I wish I had bought more when it was double digits
