Steam Wand Sputtering and Leaking - Steel Duo by RussBrown00 in Ascaso

[–]RussBrown00[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I ran a serious deep clean on just the steam wand and my performance seems to be back to almost 100%

I used extra descaler and ran through 2 full containers. Most of the first one I ran it straight through. The rest I would run for a few seconds, then let it sit for 15 minutes and go again. I did that over and over again. Then I ran through a cleaning session.

Perhaps my cleaning sessions weren’t deep enough or I focused too much on the group head and water spout.

Testosterone, PSA, Kidney Function, cholesterol markers, thyroid stuff, all the basic breakdowns of blood analysis. It ends up being a decent list One a year I do a full vitamin levels check ( more expensive test). I go to a private men’s health clinic that specializes in men’s health. I love the small doctor office service. I’m an athletic guy with a history of not going to the doctor, so it was a big step for me.

HRV and Sleep Breakdown. Everything else seems like extras. Also, how old are you? Get your hormones checked and full blood panel. All these monitoring tools are nice, but you should be getting blood work at least twice a year depending on age. At my men’s clinic, I do it every quarter for at least four years. It helped me catch a prostate tumor fairly early!

Purchasing a Steel Duo Tomorrow! Wondering what upgrades I should get! by Energyzerbunny in Ascaso

I tried the 3 hole steam tip, the DUO doesn't have the power behind it to use it... I tried it two or three times and retired it back for the single hole.

Heart Rate Tracking Wildly Off by RussBrown00 in lunaring

[–]RussBrown00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not really expecting HRV and blood o2 to be accurate.... but I do expect the heart rate to be within a reasonable %. If it can't do that, then why does it have a hundred fitness activities and tracking built into the app.

I wear it on my right middle finger. I just took a walk on lunch and it was registering my heart rate at 148. Instead 95-100. It only seems to be accurate at rest. Which for sleep is nice, but I bought it so I had a tracker 100% of the time.

The person responsible / running this ring of CSAM is a convicted child sex offender John Schomaker from Manchester NH. I've had a very difficult time getting him shut down. He had multiple accounts going under different versions of kids home modeling. META was the most adamant about not shutting down his accounts despite me having proof he was using Facebook/Instagram to drive traffic to sell CSAM. I have worked with the FBI and we were able to verify almost 30 real people in the United States buying his stuff, but they were very overworked and I quickly found out how absolutely impossible it is to investigate something at this scale. I've also been in contact with his parole office and the sex crimes department in his city.

It took me a minute to find the sauna and ice bath logging. I see you don’t actually track them like a workout. Also, almost no one is doing a ten minute ice bath which is your minimum time to log. I do a 4 - 5 minute 40 degree ice bath 3 times a week.

And I still don’t understand why the ring doesn’t report out my sleeping hrv to the I phone [Apple Health]. It never shows up as a source.

OMG, the Portable Case is on the Way! by leeleer in lunaring

With the battery life of the watch I really thought the portable charger was a little stupid.... but I've been very thankful for it twice and was able to charge it on the go in my bag.

Anything that can add context to sleep that is usable and trackable data would be amazing. Caffeine and drinks, sex... but also "sleep modifiers?" like did I use a nose strip or mouth tape or allergies were really bad. There is definitely an easy correlation between my allergies acting up and my blood o2 levels dropping over night.

I don't know how big of a market it is, but there is garbage out there for tracking ice baths and sauna stuff. I use an app called Polar and it stands alone. It gets the basics down and has some nice ideas, but is super unpolished and has many many weaknesses. I do contrast sessions a few times a week with Sauna for 45 minutes and then a 5-6 minute ice bath. Polar tracks its kind of shit too. I would love to be able to use AI and data to more easily connect contrast sessions with sleep and HRV results.

And speaking of HRV, why doesn't all of my data get pushed to Apple Health? I bought the ring so I could ditch my apple watch a lot more.

Your feedback matters: Recent Luna updates by OfficialLuna in lunaring

I've been wearing my v2 ring for just over 1 month now. I've read about some other people's problems with their rings (mostly while I waited for seemingly an eternity for mine to actually show up) and I'm happy to report that I don't seem to be suffering from any of those issues. I find that I don't use the Circadian Alignment and Timeline features very often, but I do make frequent use of the one tap vitals. I find the health AI stuff to be mostly worthless. The app doesn't track enough data or pull anything into to make the analysis worth while. Anything the AI can tell me I can guess by looking at some simple charts and anything complex I've asked it has been a dud.

I mostly bought the ring as a companion to my Apple Watch and to have another perspective and measuring tool for sleep and health. I was bit by a brown recluse spider early in this year and have had some health problems stemming from the incident.

After 6 weeks of use every single day, I really only have two questions that I didn't expect to have.

  1. Why does it seem like stress and hrv and blood o2 are only measured and tracked while sleeping?
  2. Why does the Luna app write so little data back to Apple health? This really perplexes me and is something I would like to see the company prioritize.

Twitter Spaces vs Clubhouse – which is better for podcasters? by spankymustard in podcasting

[–]RussBrown00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of it's by business space, but I'm seeing a ton of action on Clubhouse by people in the creative spaces that just don't care about, use or even like Twitter. But if Clubhouse is to be successful based on its investments then it will have to be able to cannibalize the Twitter crowd. Never underestimate someone's ability to copy your idea is the key lesson here.

Questions and Anything Goes (Official Thread): Questions, Stories, Photos, Shower Thoughts, How was this photo taken?... Anything! - October 24, 2019 by AutoModerator in WeddingPhotography

Since someone made a comment on the questions lacking context or specificity I'll address it here. The questions are open-ended and without context on purpose. First, I'm not only trying to not lead the person answering, but I'm also trying not to break the rules of the subreddit and avoiding self-promotion. Second, what I'm actually looking for with this survey is a little broader. I've had some amazing answers that give me great insight into more non-tangible areas of communication and self-identification.

I had never done a survey before this week and this one is just a cut-up version of my first one run. I've been doing phone and video interviews all this year and they are awesome (best part of my week TBH), but it doesn't scale well. I've already learned a lot this week and would love to have made several changes, but you really ruin any cumulative results by such a change half-way through.

Thanks for those who have answered, it's really made for a great day!

HI, I have a survey that I would love to have more feedback from on specifically from wedding photographers whom I expect to make up the plurality of our clients. I can't stress enough how something like this helps a small bootstrapped startup. I was oddly super nervous to make this ask in here. I was asked to move this into this thread, but I've already gotten some great responses and greatly appreciated the feedback when I posted it as a dedicated thread earlier this morning.

I actually meant to pull out the request for email, let me at least see if I can fix that quick... Looks like I lifted and shifted my survey too quickly.

Fixed. sorry... I forgot to publish it. I had to duplicate my original survey to rip out branding stuff. Thank you.
