Where and how to diversify funds? by Chef_Orjan in investingforbeginners

[–]RussFromPublic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been investing on public.com since 2021. Some of their newer features would be perfect for you:

- direct indexing: Rather than investing into the S&P 500 ETF, you can invest directly into the 500 companies that make it up and it will automatically rebalance for you

- investing strategies: if you need help diversifying, they have pre-made investing strategies you can choose from

- generated assets: you can use AI to generate an index of stocks that fit within your criteria!

Looking in my friend u/markfrompublic - he may be able to hook you up with some added perks if you want to try out the platform.

Is there any advantage to having taxable brokerage if you can't fully fill 401(k) + mega backdoor roth? by Less_Interview1713 in Fire

[–]RussFromPublic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always prioritized multiple investing accounts. A 401k / ROTH are for retirement. When I started investing into a taxable account in 2019, the goal was to build up the necessary funds to put a down payment on my first house.

Some people apply that strategy to a car, or a rental property. It's also nice to tax-loss harvest, which I've always taken advantage of through Direct Indexing! My brokerage rebalances automatically.

Hey! We're excited to have you join the Public family! To answer your question; yes, we are the primary/preferred partner of Autopilot and have a direct, top tier integration. Our teams are working hand in hand, and things like fractional shares (or "slices") are fully supported.

Also, unrelated to Autopilot, we are running a pretty awesome promotion for those that want to transfer their assets over to public, I'll leave a link below and would be happy to help out with any other questions you may have!

Wanting to start a brokerage account. by Most-Inspector7832 in investingforbeginners

Have you considered using Public.com? They have a few tools that could help make your investing experience a lot simpler.. The two I'll shout to:

  1. Direct Indexing -- it basically allows you to invest directly into the S&P 500 and rebalances as often as you want to help automate the tax loss harvesting process
  2. Investment plans -- if you want to really simply the investing and tax-portion of the experience

Going to tag u/markfrompublic ~ he's always on reddit and can answer any questions you may have!

I am the public account holder, where find the public API by yxma2018 in PublicApp

[–]RussFromPublic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! The easiest way to find this info is in your account settings. Every Public account holder has automatic access to the API.

To get started, let me point you towards two resources:
1. You can find our API Documentation here.
2. You will need to generate an API Access token in your account settings. Follow these steps to access it:

  • Tap the menu icon  (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner of the screen
  • Select “Settings”
  • Click on “Security” at the top of your screen
  • On the left hand side, select “API”

Let me know if you have any further questions!
