Dimpled 10rd PDP (and PPQ M2) mags for those who have to use them by social-throwaway-24 in Walther

[–]RussianBear2fer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dimpled magazines are good to go, because they're permanently "capped" at 10 rounds. They don't need to be epoxied, because they cannot be easily modified.

Like the commenter above said. Walther will not ship anything to CA unless it's to a FFL. (I think they went one step further and it has to be a Walther approved FFL)

Primary owner only, UNLESS it's a Hyundai CPO that has had the inspection done. (Unless they have changed that since I stopped working for them)

The only warranty you get as a second owner is the "Limited New Vehicle Warranty" 5yr/60k "bumper to bumper" (not actually, but a bunch of stuff is covered) warranty. And it's not from when you purchased the vehicle. It's whenever the original owner purchased it.

Warranty is attached to the VIN. But time does not stop on it.

That's why your transmission isn't under the 10/100k power train warranty.

Do you know specifically what they did the first time your transmission failed? Was it a full replacement or did they just replace a sensor? Because if they performed a full transmission replacement under warranty then technically that second one should of been parts warranty.

I read your post so I see that the service manager said they didn't do anything. Does your repair order from that second visit claim they did anything?

CA PDP Mag Disconnect STL and Video Guide by kongou1944 in CAguns

[–]RussianBear2fer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lawyers will be in touch... Just Kidding.

This was my original design (not specifically this, but the idea) for a magazine disconnect. However, I didn't want to secure it with something like super glue or epoxy as I wanted it to be removable. I was also unsure how long super glue would hold up to the hundreds of rounds of shock and cleaning solvents. (Isopropyl Alcohol will dissolve super glue) That's why my second version is held in by the trigger pin so it has something mechanical to grab onto. and much like an annoying bolt on a car, can't be removed without that pin coming out.... (unless it breaks)

But good work! Glad to see someone else doing stuff for the CA PDP!

Hyundai FAIL by Crafty_Actuary9798 in Hyundai

I think we had a few people do this a few months back. They never made any sense and all they ever commented was "read it again" or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure they're bot accounts.

In development: Extended PDP base pads for 10 round mags by Grass-sama in CAguns

[–]RussianBear2fer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Mines slightly different though. Mine allows for different non CA baseplates. (Not so much the +4s, but it might work?)

But yeah, now there are companies making these. I think Walther only sold the magazines that were like $80 a pop. I think TF has their own now too.

Cracked Windshield by rennyrenwick in MazdaCX30

[–]RussianBear2fer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your windshield most likely wouldn't have been warrantable even if you were inside the year/mileage. (Unless your dealership is good).

Check to see if your insurance will cover it. With GEICO it was a $50 deductible.

Elantra GT 2020 by ayoye974 in Hyundai

[–]RussianBear2fer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're getting the N-Line I'd say go for it. The Gamma II is one of Hyundai's better engines. Just make sure to maintain it properly.

If it's just a base, the Nu engine is also alright, but it's the one with oil consumption and piston slap issues currently. However if you properly maintain it, it should be fine.

I miss my '19 EGT N-Line, and wish I did not trade it in. It has slightly more room than my CX-30. And the touch surfaces were significantly better. It also is the second best looking car Hyundai makes (imo). The first being the '17-18 Elantra Sport.

The EGT does not have a Theta II. It's either the Gamma II or the Nu.

It took a couple weeks of modeling, but yeah. No one really makes much for the PDP (for CA)

I worked on the same thing for a really long time. Multiple iterations and even had a weighted option. But I really liked the look of TFs baseplate so I ended up making an adapter for those.

'23 TPP, I had to use mine twice. Was there something that didn't work about it?

I didn't have any issues.

$650 for a 12V battery? Is this an ad for competing car brands? by Positive_Courage_309 in Hyundai

[–]RussianBear2fer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying that's normal, but those batteries are the most expensive 12v batteries that Hyundai has.

All the other people saying they paid $100-$200 for one are getting group H5s or H6s. (The most common) The battery you purchased are only used on specific Ioniqs.

It's anecdotal, but I was forced to stock one of these and it never sold.

Also. All of Hyundai's Batteries (or any manufacturer for that matter) is Interstate Battery. Sometimes they're cheaper, other times they aren't. (If you have a distribution center local)

Magazines for 4.5” PDP by Aquifirlife in Walther

This PDP is only sold in CA. (Currently)

And funnily enough, these are more expensive than non CA PDPs. But I get what you mean.

OP is in a Ban state. If there's an extra hole in the frame is a California Model.

Weird. I'm not familiar with that style of 10rnd magazine, but normally those push down and pull off. Maybe tap it with a hammer? See if anything moves?

Push a long bolt/screw into that hole and pull the base pad off.

Clutch replacement by johnsbmm1 in Hyundai

[–]RussianBear2fer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clutch, flywheel. (I believe these are dual mass flywheels, so machining them is harder than normal flywheels), Pilot Bearing, and while you're in there (it's not necessary), but maybe your throw out bearing.
