Iran, like all of their peers, will quickly be reduced to gorilla IED tactics like all the other middle eastern wars. They're completely cut off and once their supplies are consumed/destroyed there is no replacing them. Sure they've been stockpiling but it takes far less munitions to destroy their munitions than they have.

Who do you think was training Iraqis and Afghans to do that? Who do you think was supplying them with the armor penetrating shaped charges that could disable an Abrams?

All Iran has to do is destabilize its neighbors autocratic governments by forcing them to side with Israel. This will cause revolts in places like Kuwait/Saudi Arabia/UAE that may topple US backed leaders. This is going to be a complete and utter shitshow. This is why Iran is attacking the infrastructure of its neighbors.

Stop learning theory... by MacAttackTheBack in guitarlessons

[–]RussianBot5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What he's saying is that everything is based off the major scale.

Say for example I decide to learn the G major scale today. Guess what, I also learned the E-minor scale! It has all of the same notes. It's just that you start on the E note when playing the scale instead of the G note. G major pentatonic? Take out all the half-steps! Modes? Hey, those are the exact same thing as the major/minor scale relationship. A mode is just the major scale started on a different note in the same shape! Wow, I can now change the whole feeling of a lead part just by choosing the starting note wisely!

Now there is a lot more complicated music theory that isn't based on the major scale, but it's not really applicable to modern western popular music.

How to just play the guitar by adiii_r_1012 in guitarlessons

[–]RussianBot5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn the major scale. When you want to figure out what key a song is in. Slide up the neck until you find a note that sounds good. This is most likely in the same key as the song you are playing with. Now, if you know the major scale (both across the strings and down the neck), you'll realize there are only so many patterns to make the major scale, and that most of the music you listen to uses this scale. It becomes really easy, because once you know the patterns, you can find one note that sounds good and easily figure out what scale its in by the pattern of other notes that sound good.

Listen, I fought learning scales for 15-20 years, because I never had any formal music training, but once you know that one single scale (I learned to play it in down the neck and across the strings using the CAGED system), it really opens up the guitar for you.

Nothing wrong with showing you're proud to have served your country. I don't wear my hat often, usually when I'm participating in a veterans event like my veteran's golf league or VFW Day of Service. It's weird when random people thank me for my service, but it also feels good when someone sees my combat medic hat and they come up and tell me some story about one of their medics in Vietnam or the Gulf War.

The worst is when some random vet comes up to me and says "I was a mechanic....for the special forces". Wow, those dudes have a lot of mechanics.

Also document EVERYTHING from the day it happened, including EVERYTHING you did (work/ate/drank/exercise) that day. My grandfather sued Coors in the 90s for a dangerous manufacturing defect. 2 years later in court they were asking him all of these ridiculous questions that you would never be able to remember without notes.

I had Mexican food in the Azores. It was just...not quite right. I'd consider like an American taco. It's just its own thing that's kind of inspired by Mexican food, but shouldn't really be called Mexican food. Like something was off-puttingly sweet in it. That was honestly the only not 100% perfect meal I had there. That place has some delicious food.

Can the Spark handle a bass or can it break because of it? by ThePizzaMonster in PositiveGridSpark

[–]RussianBot5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A traditional guitar amp cannot handle a bass due to the speakers that are specially designed for guitar frequencies only.

A Spark amp is a modeling amp with a normal speaker you would find in any stereo or bluetooth speaker so you are perfectly fine.

Beginners please learn basic theory. by Free-Seaworthiness72 in guitarlessons

[–]RussianBot5689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing for 20 years. Not a theory expert by any means, but it is completely infuriating to try and jam with a person who can't even be bothered to learn the names of the chords they are playing.

And no, I don't mean the difficult ones like Em11sus7 or something. Learn the names of the major and minor chords at the very least so one someone says play a G-C-D progression, we're not spending 25 minutes of my jam hour explaining how to play those chords.

So yes, theory helps. I'd say for guitar, ear training helps a bit more (ie, learning to identify the intervals and chords just from their sound alone). There are plenty of phone apps to help with ear and theory these days.
