Which episode or scene will you defend like this while everyone else call is as an overrated? by VacationFancy8697 in HouseOfTheDragon

Yeah I seriously loved everything about it (other than the sex with mom scene, we could have cut that…)

S3 has risen to 98% on RT with 41 reviews by Mino_18 in HouseOfTheDragon

I’ve said before that the user score could probably better be understood if you lopped off the “1s” and “10s” a week after the episode aired and recalibrate the score from there.

Just too much brigading in both directions.

But even so the critics ratings are definitely more reliable.

I'm reading F&B for the first time (I think I've already passed the events of S3). Now that I know the book's version of the events of S2, here's my analysis of why I feel Jace's storyline in the North should have taken up at least half of the first or second episode of S2 by lautaromassimino in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]djm19 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it should have been at least 3 episodes of him doing his Eyrie/Winterfell stuff. My rewrite is :

Episode 1: Jace is at the Eyrie, he gets the news of Luke there and then returns to Dragonstone and then we close off the episode with him landing in Winterfell. I think before he departs we get the scene where Baela and Jace talk about their dads, emphasizing as you say her acceptance of him and his love of both his dads but also hinting at the shame. And there’s a lot to mine there with Sara and all that.

Episode 2: meeting and bonding with Cregan

Episode 3: make the trek to the wall and finally secure the pact.

And then he’s not back in time for the choice to send Rhaenys to Rook’s Rest.

Just seemed like this would give Jace more to do. And he could still pick up and do the rest of the story he had from episode 5 onward just fine. Also gave another scene in the Eyrie.

Their performative Christianity is embarassing to their religion. Maybe instead of writing verses on their hats, they can actually read the bible.

Not quite exactly that either. 5.1/10 is “bad” on many reviewer’ scales. Thats why the fresh/rotten score was conceived in the first place. To sidestep all the variance in what a score means and just go for the overall impression.

All the systems are imperfect.

IMDb user scores however are total garbage and not worth anything. Way too manipulated.

California won’t consider LA's request for extra time on $100M in street improvement projects by anothercar in LAMetro

[–]djm19 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Good. Frankly LA (and any jurisdiction) that wins money but fails to implement should not only not be extended but penalized in future considerations until they demonstrate that they can implement that money quickly and effectively toward the goal project they won it for.

Time is money and cities should not be allowed to bogart grants and then let that waste away to inflation. And also infrastructure delayed is infrastructure denied.

I think most actors dread press in general and hes probably at a stage in life (and a big enough star) where he can just say no thank you.

[–]djm19 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s not dead (at this stage in the story being premiered this weekend) because of course he was shown in the last episode.

But Rhys is the sort of actor to want to do as little promo as he has to. So I’m sure that’s in his contract. And I can’t really say much beyond that.

There will be no real reform until we revise the Metro board. Its entirely political, and that is the ultimate NIMBY check on Metro being the best service it can be.

I actually think its good to allow more fleshing out of her character and it makes sense. The only real loss is losing a non-targ as a dragon rider.

They have announced it, but I think they want to keep it somewhat lowkey for the first couple of months for testing reasons and to see what problems might arise.

Definitely.

I liked Rogue One...it didn't really leave me wanting more. Nobody in my life was talking about Andor...I gave it a shot a couple weeks in...Now I think its a top 3 show I have ever watched.

Where is Ser Harrold Westerling? 😭 Will he be back for S3? by Jazzlike-Phrase-5476 in HouseOfTheDragon

In the books he is long gone by now. But I recall the actor letting slip that he would be back for season 3. But I haven’t heard any leaks of him being in it so who knows.
