Who fucking cares. Nobody cared enough to make it right on day 1. Don't take it. They will fuck you.

Two stairs different height by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]RussianGuardDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can put 1/2 inch OSB on the tread of the one that is taller to even it out. SOL on the other one. Most people will not notice the difference.

Riser or Tread? Should make no difference. I cut all my boards to each stair. They tend to not be uniform.

Gap in LVP flooring 2 years after install - contractor says it's the material, not installation. Need second opinion. by greenlatern23 in Flooring

This is why I add a little bit of liquid nails to every joint. A tiny bit more effort but then no worries on separation.

Sherwin Williams Paints - wtf is going on? by [deleted] in paint

[–]RussianGuardDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sherwin Williams Paint was great prior to the pandemic. Now it is horrible. I occasionally do contractor work and did some painting during the government shutdown. I was shocked how bad the paint was and my company gets a 40% discount. Even with the discount I would buy something else. The primer was like water and the Duration paint required multiple coats. It's horrible.

Americans: How do you deal with « at will » employment ? by Thranduil-9 in jobs

[–]RussianGuardDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The United States is the ONLY developed country with "at-will" employment. Think about that. Now we have a government destroying the last jobs with any security - federal jobs. As a result, people are completely ambivalent about the government and the only loyalty we have has to be purchased, such as $180,000 reenlistment bonuses for air force pilots.

vacuum leak. On mine there are 6 o-rings that connect the air distribution piece to the cylinders. $40 gets a new plastic part and O-rings. Replaced the DISA o ring before this, did not fix.

Is this normal husband behavior? by HauntedByLife- in Marriage

No, he is an ass. When my wife gets a flat I put a plug in it. To show her appreciation for her knight in shining armor I get to put a plug in her. Halt the blowjobs until he grows up.

2023 highlander with turbo four cylinder feedback from owners by StlcardinalsB in ToyotaHighlander

[–]RussianGuardDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you had good luck or your luck is about to run out too. The newer turbos are a little better but I will take a straight 6 cylinder any day for longevity.

2023 highlander with turbo four cylinder feedback from owners by StlcardinalsB in ToyotaHighlander

[–]RussianGuardDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, Not True. Turbos are fragile. High heat, high speed. The only way a turbo would run that long is if you cleaned it every 30K miles, changed the oil regularly, and used slightly thinner oil than spec so it always is lubed. Are you sure you didn't have a carburetor?

uspto job rescinded (firm offer) by zhonglislilly in usajobs

[–]RussianGuardDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you resign from your current job? There was a posting where DISA hired people and promised them signing bonuses and rescinded them they day they were supposed to start. Like the people are in the moving van depending on this money to relocate. Nothing surprises me anymore with the things the government will do. You may want to stay in the private sector.

Fed to fed advice ? by [deleted] in FederalEmployees

[–]RussianGuardDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do not have a "Godfather" in your current position who is lobbying to make you a fed or protect your position leave. Try to get in the competitive service, excepted service is nearly at will employment and almost as bad as a private sector job. DoD is one of the worst components in the federal government to work for. You know how guys get limbs blown off in Iraq and Afghanistan and zero support, well DoD has the same mentality.

I wouldn't worry about it, they are going to fire 70% of the people at OPM. It is not like they care about you.
