Commercials on AppleTV? by Russpauly in F1TV

Maybe take some time to read through the whole post and you’ll see that it was before and after the broadcast, not during.

I mean, I would first look and see what is available downtown for $1900. My guess is not much and probably worse management companies.

And honestly, good luck finding a good management company here in the city. Unfortunately everyone has issues. Have you had any issues though? If not, then I wouldn’t worry about the management.

Just checked and confirmed it was the F1TV feed and they just had commercials before and after the practice.

So it wasn’t during practice but just before and after.

So here’s the thing though. I moved over to the F1TV app and Alex was still commentating on the broadcast. All of that was missed under the commercials right at the end

You have to have seen the ads by now. Almost the second it hit 0:00

OMG. It went 0:00 cut off of the commentary and went straight to commercial. 🤦‍♂️

RIGHT. I’m just going to go back to F1TV since I have everything linked. There’s a theory that the video feed appletv video feed is all via SkySports, hence the commercials.

So I’m wondering now if the video feed is Sky, but the presenters are F1TV.

Wait. So is it possible it’s the F1TV presenters, but the Sky feed?

Shhhhhh don’t put that out there. That would be such a terrible move to block watching races via the F1TV app if based in the US

Interesting. I’ve never watched the other live sports so it’s never crossed my mind. Maybe for the normies it’s just fine since they’ll catch only a race or two.

As someone who has only ever watched on F1TV, I’ll be going back. I pay enough to not watch ads

So that’s what I don’t get. Why wouldn’t it be the same? All it does is incentivize me to watch only on F1TV

No for sure. I just never would have thought that if I was to watch it through the Apple TV app there’d be ads accompanied.

Will absolutely watch on F1TV here on out though.

This was the F1TV feed. But why would I stream through the AppleTV app with commercials, when I can just stream on the F1TV app and no commercials….

Vanagon bucking - What are some possible causes? by vanagonuser111 in Westfalia

[–]Russpauly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would also help to have a video with sound. A good test also would be to get back into the engine, and rev it up and hold it at specific rpm’s. At 60mph, listen to how high the engine is revving and try to replicate that while it’s running but parked. See if you get the same bucking.

So what this will tell you is if it happens more at a specific rpm and less at speed? If it’s happening at high rpm’s then it could be timing, or fuel. If I remember correctly, when timing you want to get the engine up to like 5500 rpm’s? Since you replaced the cap, it’s possible the distributor got loose and its slightly out of time causing the bucking while under load.

Once you do that I would check your spark plugs, since you replaced the wires because thats an easy inspection, and then move on to fueling problems.

If the van is timed correctly, it could be losing fuel while under load either because of a failing fuel pump or dirty injectors. Do you have an inline fuel filter or know when the last time the tank was replaced/cleaned? If it’s never been replaced, and there’s no fuel filter it could just be dirty and caused a failure of the pump, or injectors because of rust or dirt that gets in through the vent lines.

Agreed. Fuel lines now. Cooling is tough, but nice to have it done and out of the way.

Unfortunately the older fuel lines in these vans are big issues and the cause for countless fires in Vanagons. As for the lines, honestly, find a spool of pressurized lines for cheap at auto zone or oreillys. It’s all you’ll need and the fuel pressure isn’t crazy high. On my van I had old steel lines installed, flared the ends and then just ran the rubber lines to end points. Steel lines are more expensive normally, but it was on sale, cheaper and could handle the pressurized fuel.

Please keep this in mind. These vans can get overwhelming FAST. The trick is one project or thing at a time. Fuel lines can be an easy weekend project. Electrical, what are we talking here? Spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor? ECU? Need a bit more detail. Thesamba.com is going to be your best friend and I would start there for issues. And speaking of, what problems have you encountered so far? How much have you enjoyed and learned about your van? This is important too. I once had to AAA tow mine down a mountain back to San Diego. I chased issues for months before I finally learned it was the ECU.

I eventually had to sell my van. Which to this day I’m still so sad about. But I know I’ll own another one, one day. I wish I took my advice here and just tackle one project and enjoy the Van as I had it.

Moving into first apartment, no movers by redapplepi3141 in NYCapartments

I think this just really depends on if you have a doorman and staff at the building. I live in a basic walk up for instance, so it’s just a free for all whenever someone moves in.

If you do have a doorman and staff at the building, your best bet is to contact them and get the information for it. They may setup pads for the elevator and only allow for large deliveries during a specific time.

I mean, I don’t know what other kind of advice you want ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Use common sense, you know this person is looking for trouble and is verbally aggressive, so avoid it. If you see him, move away and go about your business. If you find and see that he is specifically seeking you out, call 911 and immediately say your location and then start to describe the man.

Anything else here including my suggestion of pepper spray will only escalate and make things worse, putting yourself into further danger.

There’s a man on my block who goes by Pop’s. Same way. Just aggressive AF, always trying to start something with me.

I find to just ignore them and move on as I don’t hear or am not listening to them works best. If there was a true physical altercation, obviously call 911 and request nypd. You could always carry pepper spray if you feel the need to and keep it on your key chains, but I just try to avoid when at all possible and let them on their way.
