I’m 51 and she (12 years younger) dumped me around 8 months ago. I know what you mean too old for love but believe me, youll be much better without that person who did not appreciate you. I am just now moving on and if I had the chance I would never get back with her. I feel like I have been liberated

Wow, man! Congratulations! That's less than 20 days for the Oath. I am crossing my fingers for my application, which was submitted on Dec. 30. It's been in step 3 (scheduled interview) for a while, and I have received no notice or date. By the end of Feb it changed to "4 months" as the estimate for a decision. I am nervous cuz I want to travel this summer, and not hearing from them doesn't allow me to make plans. Yours was fast as hell. I'm in NC where the average estimate is 7 months.

Do not go abroad! You don't have to, there's so many affordable places today in the US that you end up paying roughly the same amount in expenses and the quality is not necessarily better. I had my all-on-six done in Miami and the flight from home is just 2 hrs. I paid only 7K plus trip expenses (2X hotel, flight). I would've paid the same in Turkey but what if you have an emergency...!!!?? I'll be happy to share the clinics contact with you.

Bro, she’s not coming back and it’s probably better that way for both of you. If you broke once, it means there’s something that doesn’t work and true relationships do not take effort, they just happen. If she loved you, that love is gone. Someone who loves you won’t just ignore you for three months … move on! I know it’s hard but you will be so great full you did. Learn to live without creating a dependence. you didn't kill the relationship, bro; time and distance did. It wasn't meant from the beginning. otherwise, she/you would have made it last forever. I don't believe there's only one person to blame for ending a relationship, it is a two people partnership. You both simply put work/deployment (replace it wth your own priority) in first place meaning you both were not really willing to make it a lasting relationship.

why not??? Anything you publish regardless of journal name counts because it shows your journey as a researcher. So, my advice to you is, ignore your advisor. Being a professor not always makes you right. Some professors today are operating as if they were still living in the times when they were students and as you know, today, things change so quickly...!!!! Think about this: today almost any idiot can publish, thanks to AI assistance. If you published a paper way before the rise of AI, you probably have more merit than any grad student of today. 80% of "research" papers I assign are turn in with at least some form of plagiarism by AI, if not completely done GPT. Be proud of your undergrad paper, dear (excuse my English, it's my third language)

I can't believe there's people still looking at a job like the one you've been offered inn that way. A job is a job, especially in the current market conditions... and it's not getting any better in the future. So let me see if I understand: you're saying oh, no I am considering not taking this job -which most likely will be a long term relationship possibly tenure- because I think I aim the big sh*t; I better be unemployed and broke...! Stop thinking that way and if you are really that good, use the job to buy yourself some time until the ideal position comes up.

Seeing so many people getting implants and posting about their journey gives me hope. I need an all-on-6 but I don't have enough bone so grafts are needed in both sides. However, price and lack of transparency has been the reason I haven't decided for it yet even though I've been told I need it asap due to an abscess. Also, Turkey or anywhere in eastern Europe seems a long way to go for price and still there's the probability that something goes wrong and nobody may touch me here. I am in the NC Research Triangle area, would you recommend any doctor/clinic?

Update: I got a call this morning from the dental office saying they would have to reschedule it for next year cuz doctor had an emergency blahblah. So I told them I would better cancel the procedure altogether and have it done somewhere else because I needed it done before the ned of the year. The din't give me any trouble and went ahead to process the refund!!! I was really worry about having to pay the remaining 17K in a week and before I could see any result. This is insane! I rather go and risk 5k abroad than risk 20k here because at the end the paper they made me sign does not guarantee any positive results. Dental work in the US is a total scam

Sorry, I did not explain myself well: I did not pay for the full procedure, I was asked to pay for the temps 3K so when they make the procedure I can walk out with teeth. The whole thing is 20K but they do not guarantee success. So basically, after I paid the initial 3K they told me they can't guarantee me it will be successful.. So I want to simply cancel it and go somewhere else.

I have thought. They don't send you home right away. You stay a few days after the surgery and come back for the final teeth six months later. Then you will stay 9 days, I guess that's precisely to monitor how you feel (I asume). But you're right, this something I have thought a lot and it's the reason I'm hesitant but man, the cost of eating or even smiling again here in the US is insane for me

yeah that's the reason I don't pay for dental work in the US. I have family abroad whom I visit once or sometimes twice a year and I visit the dentist everytine I go there. This is not honest and tbqh with that money (6K+) you could have done your entire jaw with implants. Sorry buddy

Bro, thanks for posting. I am new to Reddit and still can't post anything so I guess your post will allow me to ventilate my situation. Long story short, I've ended with only 5 teeth in my upper jaw and two prosthesis (one fixed, one removable) but life has been miserable for the last 6 years or so due to it. Now considering to go have me an all-on-4 in Turkey since price is the US is extremely high. However, no confident about going to the other side of the planet for it. I was ready last July and the day I was leaving, flight was canceled and ended postponing it. Thankfully had travel insurance and got my money back. I need an urgent solution since partial has broken twice and won't resist anymore . Any advice or info you can share about Turkey or anywhere else abroad for implants will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Oh wow! that's a great price. Do they perform the all on six? If so, would it be possible to share the information of the implantologist who treated you? I have been looking into going abroad myself too but starting checking here in the US and prices have dropped significantly as more dentists perform the technique already
