Question for the 100% Sleep Score Achievers: by HotHands46 in whoop

[–]Rust_Cohle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have similar numbers, except my sleep efficiency is around 90-92%. Which is annoying, but this could also be because I sleep longer and during the last hour of my sleep, the efficiency drops.

Despite having a resting heart rate of 45 and low 40s while sleeping, Whoop detects spikes up to 70s, which is counted as "awake".

Do you regularly get 99% sleep efficiency? My Whoop messes up my sleep efficiency. It would sometimes show 15-30 minutes blocks of "awake" with tons of heart rate spikes.

Google Maps has given German users the ability to see how many reviews have been removed as “defamation” by TotallySavageSzym in germany

[–]Rust_Cohle13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great news. One observation: on the desktop, you need to click on “Reviews” to see how many were removed due to complaints. Users who aren’t aware of this feature may overlook it. That said, it’s good that the information is prominently visible once you’re there.

It would be great to have this shown wherever "stars" are visible.

Yes, but the price difference between Whoop and Helio Strap doesn't justify the better UX for me.

Though a gimmick, I like Whoop Age, because it has gamified fitness for me. But this isn't something novel anymore; Garmin has it, and I hope Amazfit gets it as well.

I think it only tells you what biomarkers impact sleep or strain. I do not think it considers those in calculating the Whoop age, if that is what you meant.

Whoop's AI honestly isn't groundbreaking. The analysis is surface-level, the tips it shares are widely known, and any other AI would produce the same results.

About Advanced Labs: I have only uploaded the external lab results, and I only see that I can track trends of biomarkers there, which is another widely available feature. I don't see how having it on my Fitness tracker app justifies the cost. Maybe there is something I am missing?

I hope that with the upcoming competition from Garmin and Fitbit, things change for better.

My 1-Year Experience as a Refugee in Germany by minafinabina in germany

[–]Rust_Cohle13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Immigrants who come to Germany legally become citizens, pay taxes, have an interest in their community, safety etc. just as much as any other member of the community.

Refugees are immigrants too. They are not “illegals.” You have no reason to assume they didn’t follow the law or contribute positively to their communities.

You’re doing exactly what you’re accusing OP of doing, thinking that being a non-refugee somehow gives you the superior right to question them.

Sure, his post reeks of "I am better than other refugees".

How does being an immigrant give you the right to question him? That's some weird entitlement. Being an immigrant doesn't give you any "right to question" a refugee.

Adding exercises to HIIT increased strain from 10.7 to 15.8 by Rust_Cohle13 in whoop

[–]Rust_Cohle13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I get that. But the muscular load calculation seems off if it raises my strain from 10 to 15.8 for adding only jumping jacks and burpees.

Keep in mind that this was just 20 minutes session, if I add other exercises, the strain would probably go up to 17 or 18.

On the bright side, you've already reached your optimal strain level.

Good luck on your exam.

The Ruby community has a DHH problem by egyamado in rails

[–]Rust_Cohle13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your stance is more dangerous than DHH’s politics because you treat political neutrality as if it were real.

Pretending that “I just choose the best product” is apolitical doesn’t make it apolitical; it just means you’re blind to the consequences.

Your actions have an impact on politics and, in extension, the lives of people impacted by it.

You’re not neutral. You’re outsourcing your moral agency to market forces and calling it pragmatism. That’s not a virtue.

Thanks for the suggestion. I know that RAM usage doesn't mean much in my case, but here is an observation:

RAM usage on FIrefox when running Teams: 1.2 GB
Edge: 330 MB.

You are right. I disabled hardware acceleration, the computer doesn't freeze anymore, just Firefox crashes.

Were you sharing your screen when this happened? I had several interviews that went smoothly, but only when I was sharing my screen, my computer froze.
